Keen sense of season!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Every time guests check out from this guesthouse on the last day of the stay, we are concerned whether she/he could enjoy staying here or not. That is always our biggest interest, even though TOUKA is a little/cheap guesthouse.

One day this week, a guest handed me one thing at the entrance hall.

It was a gift which she drew during her stay here.

She stayed here in TSUYU season and prepared a gift considering coming summer.

We are sure that we will remember her, when we will have TSUYU season every year.

旬感溢れる！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

滞在最終日の朝を迎え、ゲストがチェックアウトする時にいつも気になることは、当宿での滞在で満足されたかどうか？ たとえ安宿であっても一番気になります。

見送ろうと一緒に玄関を出た時に、ゲストさんから手渡されました。

滞在中に描いたという素敵なプレゼント。

梅雨に宿泊いただいたゲストさんからの、夏をも意識した贈り物です。

きっとこれから梅雨を迎えるたびに、このゲストさんのこと思い出すだろうな。

Should we share/teach or not?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It is very interesting to share wonderful experience with our guests. However TPO to share/teach is very important, no matter how wonderful it is.

The setting sun of Tanabata evening was quite big, really red and very beautiful.

Our guests already came back to this guesthouse from fish market after enjoying sushi. But we decided not to teach them about the beautiful sunset after wondering we should teach or not.

Why?

Because they are couple guests.

They didn’t see the sunset but they said that they had wonderful experience walking seaside road watching night view of the strait. We believe that is the most wonderful experience of their Tanabata stay here.

教えようか、、悶々っ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

素敵なことをゲストと共有できるのが楽しい毎日ですが、、、
どんなに素敵な体験でもＴＰＯが意外に大事だったりします。

七夕の日の日没は、雲の下から再び現れた太陽がほんとうに大きくて真っ赤でなかなか見ることのない夕陽でした。

魚市場でお寿司を満喫したゲストは６時には宿に戻っていたのですが、夕陽がキレイなことを教えようか迷った末、黙っていることにしました。

なぜって、、、

それはゲストが仲良しカップルだからです。

夕陽は見れませんでしたが、そのあとのシーサイド夜景散歩を楽しまれたそうなので、彼らにとってそれが一番の七夕ステイだったのだと確信します。

坂の上にも三年！/ Three years ago today!

Three years ago today!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Just three years ago today, a little guesthouse was opened under a little lighthouse stand on the steep hill.

I met this building in the new year holiday of the year, it was re-installed as a guesthouse with 6 months speed preparation. And it was opened in the month of June as my original schedule.

Because TOUKA was opened on TAIAN day ( = the most lucky day of the Japanese calendar ), we have had both guests and repeater guests little by little but steadily. (It has been amazing most repeater guests are from foreign countries.) It is now very fun place for our guests and us.

It was the topic with guests today again that it is unbelievable thing that all of our guest is wonderful people as well as they are precious guests climbing up such a steep road to stay here.

I decide myself again to make this guesthouse more and more happy and beloved place.

坂の上にも三年！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ちょうど三年前の今日、ちいさいゲストハウス「灯火」は急な坂の上に立つちいさい灯台の下で産声をあげました。

その年のお正月に建物に出会ってから、6ヶ月のスピード準備で開店まで漕ぎつけ、予定していた6月中に開店することができました。

大安の日の開店にこだわったのが良かったのか、毎年少しづつ着々とゲストもリピーター（なんと海外からのリピーターですよ！）も増えて、とっても楽しい空間になりました。

昨晩もゲストとの話題にのぼりましたが、こんな何もない急な坂の上にゲストがきてくれるだけでもありがたいのに、来てくれるゲストがみんな素敵な人ばかりなのが本当に驚きです。

これからもずっと細く長く愛される宿になれるように頑張ろうと、あらためて決心したところです。
