Spring has come to Moji. It comes on my dishes!

Japanese Title (邦題)： 「門司にも春がやってきた」末尾に

Moji has both ocean and mountains in such a narrow peninsula.

It is fun to go hiking to mountains.

Not only hiking, but also picking wild vegetables / herbs are so fun, this time of year.

This is the harvest of this week.

Takenoko (bamboo shoots), Warabi (it is not Wasabi. Take care!), and various Japanese herbs.

(in my aunt’s mountain.)

Dinner was full of spring taste!

「門司にも春がやってきた」

海あり 山あり、、、それが門司の魅力！

そんなに高い山はないけれど、ちょい登るにはよい山がいくつかあります。

そしてこの時期は山登りにとどまらず、山菜・竹の子掘りが超面白い。
2時間ほど散策した結果の収穫がコレっ！

竹の子、ワラビ、セリに よもぎ、これだけ採れれば悪くないよね。
（伯母さん所有の山にて）

収穫はそのまま晩ご飯の食卓にのぼる。

そして口の中は春の味に溢れる。

お金こそかからないけど、都会では味わえない なんとも贅沢な春です。

（ってか、門司もそこそこ都会なんですけど、、、）

Start of a wonderful new school

Japanese Title (邦題)： 「素敵な学校が開校しました」末尾に

There used to be four (4) public high schools in Moji.

They were all fine schools and had their own traditions.

However, there are only two (2) public high schools now.

Four schools had been restructured to two, because of reducing population of children.

(I was also graduated from the one of four.)

This April, one of four high school was rebuilt to a brand new school.

It is no longer a high school, but a special support education school, special school for handicapped children.

“Moji Commercial High School” was changed to “Moji Sogo Special Support Education School”.
(I do not know the exact meaning of this SOGO, fuzzy Japanese.)

April 8th was the school opening day and April 13th was the day of first entrance ceremony.

If you were graduated from MONSHO (= Moji Shogyo Koukou), please come to see how your mother school got changed.

The school is located 110m from us, a little guesthouse TOUKA.

Hopefully in near future, we will have a chance to work together with this new school for its students’ sake.

“素敵な学校が開校しました”

この地 門司 には、かつて４つの公立高校がありました。

そのどれもが特色ある学校で、それぞれに伝統ある学校でした。

現在、門司区には公立高校は２つしかありません。

急激な少子化の影響で、４つが２つに再編されました。

（かくいう自分もその４つのうちの１つの卒業生だったりします。）

この４月、４校のうちの１つが再建築され、真新しい学校が建設・完成しました。

出来た学校は高校ではなく、特別支援学校、つまり障害者児童のための学校です。

「門司商業高校」が「門司総合特別支援学校」に生まれ変わったというわけです。

４月８日に開校式、４月１３日に最初の入学式が執り行なわれました。

灯台下のゲストハウス「灯火」はご近所に出来たこの素敵な学校と共存し、近い将来、なにかしら子供達をサポートする活動ができたら良いなと考えています。

A Very Little Library

Japanese Title (邦題)： 「ちいさい図書館」末尾に

There is almost nothing around Komorie station.

No bus stop, no taxi stop.

But there are parking lot, vending machine and a LIBRARY.

The library is very very very little. The library is located in the waiting room of Komorie station. There is only one small shelf and it is the library. It is too small to call it a library. But it must be a library, it has a sign as ”Library of the Station”.

It has been operated by donation base, and books seems to be moving around people so frequently.

Nobody steal it and books comes back to the shelf.

So there is a very little library in Komorie station.

You may meet with a wonderful book, because of such a cute Library.

「ちいさい図書館」

灯火の最寄り駅、小森江駅の周辺にはほぼ何も無いといって間違いはない。

商店・レストランどころか、バス停も、タクシー乗り場さえない。

あるのは、コイン駐車場、ジュースの自販機、そして 図書館ぐらい。

そうそう その図書館。 とってもとってもちいさい図書館。

図書館があるのは駅の待合室の中、そこにあるちいさな本棚ひとつ、それだけの図書館。

とても図書館とはいえない図書館だけど、ちゃんと「駅の図書館」と表示があるので、間違いなく図書館だよね。

この図書館、利用者の寄付とボランティア精神で自主的に運営されている。

自分が見る限り、結構貸し借りされているようで、意外やちゃんと運用できているみたい。

なぜなら、本は一定の不在期間を経て、本棚に戻ってきてるし、盗んでいくなんていう不届きものもいないみたい。

そんなわけで、、、小森江駅には、とってもちいさい、かわいい図書館があります。

こんなちいさい図書館だからこその素敵な本に出会えるかもね。
