What I don’t like in Guesthouse stay!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
It is August 17th.
We are taking a breather, after OBON holidays were over.
There are still guests staying but,
We are feeling that number of guests are over the hump,
as well as this summer crazy temperature.
There are one thing we are careful about in such busy time.
It is hygiene management of guests’ FUTONs.
It is my biggest concern, when I use/stay in guesthouses.
I really hate to stay in damp FUTON.
It is worse with lingering scent of the guest last night.
In other guesthouse, I saw roommates not using sheets.
And I felt sorry for the guest, in his bed next night.
In TOUKA,
we are bearing in mind not to do to our guests
what we don’t want to be done to ourselves.
In such a busy time like OBON holidays,
we are keep drying our FUTONs under sunshine for
disinfection and deodorization.
We put them at least in the wind even in cloudy day,
if it is not rainy outside.
It is quite comfortable laying on the FUTON,
after drying in the sun and cooling down in room temp.
It is completely different from FUTON not cared like that.
What do they doing for FUTON in large sized guesthouse,
such as guesthouse in multi-tenant commercial building,
increasing in big city like Tokyo.
Anyway, the sun is the best employee in TOUKA,
working hard for guests’ comfort, sometimes entertain them.

ゲストハウスが嫌いな一番の理由！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
お盆休みも過ぎて、ほっと一息。
まだまだゲストの滞在は続いていますが、
気温と同じで、一時のピークは越えた感があります。
「灯火」では繁忙期だからこそ、気を付けていることがあります。
それは「布団の衛生管理」です。
実は自分が他のゲストハウスを利用する際の一番の懸念事項です。
小さなシミなどはともかく、
なんか湿っぽかったり、
時に前の利用者の残り香などが強かったりすると、
自分の場合、気分は一気に急降下します。
同室者がシーツも使わず寝ているのを見ることも少なくありません。
翌日同じベッドに泊まるゲストを思うと、同情してしまいます。
「灯火」では、
自分が嫌いなことをゲストに味わせることの無いよう心がけています。
お盆のような繁忙期でも、施設清掃の間、極力布団は外干しをし、
あれば日光を、少なくとも屋外で風を当てるように心がけています。
陽にあて乾いた布団、それを早めに取り込んで、冷ましたものは、
寝転がった時の心地よさが全然違います。
最近東京で増えているような大型のゲストハウス、
集合ビル内のゲストハウスなどはいったいどうしているんでしょう？
それにしても「お日さま」いい仕事してくれます。
ゲストの快適な滞在や、時にはエンターティメントまで、、、
「灯火」一番の功労スタッフかもしれません。

このお盆の時期のお休みですが、
日本だけでなく、アジアの国にも少なくないようです。
なぜでしょう？
それは我が国 日本のせいで出来た祝日(8/15)があるからです。
お隣の国では
光復節（こうふくせつ：광복절）、
対日戦勝記念日（对日战争胜利纪念日）
などと呼ばれています。
そんな日に前後して、当事国 日本に滞在してくれるなんて、
利用してくれたゲストの皆さんに心から感謝です。
