Report from Runners’ Night

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Last weekend of TOUKA was more Hong Kong Night than Runners’ Night.
Because we got a reservation by big HK family from earlier time.
As the result, runner was precious only one.
Of course the runner is also from HK.

Her name is Cherry-san, who is charming HK lady.

Runner was only Cherry-san, but TOUKA challenged maximum…
“O.MO.TE.NA.SHI”.

Of course, material got wel-prepared, at 100yen shop
and support item which TOUKA provide was

“Hand made HK Flag!”

(I really like and good at craft. 30min is enough to make this.)

Early morning, I sent her off to the race, waving this flag.
(during HK family was sleeping)

After family’s check-out, I quickly clean and put everything in order.
And walk down 3min to the race course.

For a while, no when I got tired with holding flag, Cherry-san appeared, waving her both hands.

Even 27km point outward at Komorie, I worried about she can make or not, because it is her first full marathon.

But she was so excited and I took picture of her with the flag.

Homeward at Komorie, she was still energetic and run through 35km point in front of vivid blue Kanmon Strait.

The result of the race: She completed her first full marathon.
Congratulation!!

To tell the truth, I saw so many adult male fall down to the ground, and retired from the race. Ambulance also run between the runners.
So, her completion was really wonderful news for TOUKA.

Cherry-san: You cleared the goal you set at entry time the previous day.
Congratulation, again!

TOUKA is planning to support positive runners at the next race. We hope more runner to join the Runners’ Night.
(We will minimize the number to stay for comfort sleep for race.)

Dear my old friend T : I feel sorry for your losing on the lottery, but please challenge next time. I hope you will be on this blog. (It was perfect day. Marathon course near TOUKA is very photogenic, isn’t it?)

**Usually TOUKA does not disclose guest’s privacy with pictures, with respecting our policy “hide-a-way atmosphere”. But this time, with permission from guest, I put this article with photos for runner’s network in future.

Runners’ Night 開催レポート

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この週末の「灯火」は Runners’ Night というより、むしろ
Hong Kong Night！

和室の方に早い時期から香港の大家族の予約が入り、ランナーは貴重な1人。
で、そのランナーもやはり香港からのお客様でした。

お名前はチェリーさん、とってもチャーミングな女性です。

ランナーはチェリーさんお一人でしたが、そこは「灯火」！
しっかり「お・も・て・な・し」してみました。

当然、準備は周到に、、
百均で用意した材料を使って「灯火」が準備したのは、、、

「灯火」特製、手作り香港国旗！

（実は工作得意で大好きなので、この程度なら30分で完成です。）

その国旗で早朝の出立をお見送り。（その間、ご家族の方は爆睡中。）

ご家族がチェックアウトされた後、素早く片付け、掃除をして、、、
いざ、徒歩３分のマラソンコースへ。

しばらくすると、、、いやいや旗を持つ手が疲れるほど待っていると、向こうから両手を振ってチェリーさん登場！

チェリーさんにとっては初フルマラソンなので、往路で27km地点にある小森江までも心配されましたが、大喜びで記念撮影！

復路の小森江海岸も鮮やかな関門海峡をバックに、元気に35km地点を走り抜けていきました。

結果は、初参加で「無事フルマラソン完走！」応援した甲斐がありました。

正直、すぐ目の前でバタバタと大の男が倒れ、脱落して行くのを見ているだけに喜びもひとしおです。
（市民マラソンにお約束の救急車も大活躍していました。）

前日のエントリー時に設定した目標タイムもほぼクリアしたチェリーさん、本当におめでとうございます。

「灯火」では、来年もバッチリ、ランナーを応援していくつもりですので、前向きなランナーさん、是非「灯火」を御活用ください。
（レース前夜の快適な睡眠のため、来年は宿泊設定を絞る予定です。）

本来、活用いただく予定で、残念ながら抽選に洩れてしまった旧友のＴ君、来年も是非チャレンジしてくださいね。マジで記事に載ってもらいたいです。（いやいや今年は最高のマラソン日和でした。「灯火」の近隣は結構フォトジェニックでしょ。）
