When I checked our guests records,
I felt a set of eyes on me

So I turned to the direction where I felt someone’s sight,
there was a brightly shining big boat is floating on the strait.

I watched back the boat through binocular and find out that a lot of passengers were on the deck, watching this town.

In this port town of the strait, such unusual things happen often.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。

宿帳ファイルに目を通していると、、、
ふと強い視線を感じました。

感じた方向、窓の外を見ると、そこには、、、
光輝く巨大な船体が浮かんでいました。

双眼鏡で見ると、デッキには大勢の乗客がいて、海峡の町（こちら側）を見ています。

故郷（ここ）は海峡の港町、こんな非日常的なことが頻繁に起こる場所です。

Something Important which we lost!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

One of our guests went to the city in the west and send us pictures through SNS with message “How wonderful these are here!”

Several decades ago, there were several fantastic ones in our town too. And we were proud them when we talk about them in Tokyo. However they are no longer in our town.

The Gap between the town which have people who knows what is important and the town without them has been getting clearer and bigger now.

Important thing which our home town lost was not only next generation and children. Most unfortunate reason is that we lost them by our OWN GOAL.

失った大事なもの！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

同じ県内にあるライバル都市*に出掛けて行ったゲストから「ここ最高っ！」とSNSで画像が送られてきました。（*向こうはこちらのことなど眼中にないかもしれませんが、、、）

ひと昔前は我が故郷にも、東京でも自慢話になるような粋なのがあったのにね。

物事の価値の分かる人がいる街と、何が大事なのか分からない人しかいない町の未来には大きな差があって、それが少しずつ、でも着実に表面化してきているようです。

故郷が失った大事なものは、次世代の若者や、子供たちだけではありません。
そしてどれもその原因が「オウンゴール」だというのが、残念で仕方ありません。

Never get bored

We can see various things from here TOUKA.

from industrial area of Kokura in the west,
to Akama shrine in the east.

Some are beautiful sceneries as I posted usually
and others are views of storm moving.

I saw yesterday that heavy rain was wrapping the town of Shimonoseki.

It is sometimes not only view outside.

When I talked with our guests in this dining room,

I can see their hometowns, families and
There are times when I can see their future.

Because of this, I never get bored,
even though I stay here without any move to somewhere else.

決して飽きることはない

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここ「灯火」からは色々なものが見えます。

西は小倉の重工業地帯から、
東はギリギリ赤間神宮ぐらいまで。

常々画像を更新しているように綺麗な風景もあれば、
嵐が動いている様子も見えます。

昨日は豪雨が下関の町を包み込んでいくのが見えました。

時には風景でないものも見えます。

ここダイニングでゲストと話していると、

そのゲストのお国にいる家族が見えたり、
時にはゲストの将来が見えたりもします。

おかげで自分自身はココにいて動くことはなくても、
決して飽きることはありません。
