New Spot for tourists in my hometown!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

A news was broadcasted locally that new shop was opened in Kokura.

As our guests may want to use it, I checked out this shop.

The shop was located near from north exit of Kokura station,
at the 1F of Parking Building behind the ANIME Complex building.
(There is a major electronics retail stores on its 2F.)

What kind of shop was opened there?

It is DUTY FREE shop.

They are expecting shopping by tourists from tour bus parked aside of the shop.

Lineup of their goods are popular shopping items for Asian tourist. And there are so many big sized packages.
(According to shop clark, tourist got duty free when they purchase more than 5,000JPY.)

However the shop is very hard to find, when I walked from Kokura station.
Nearest corner from station is EXIT ONLY and we see easily that they are expecting bus tour, not individual tourists.
No flyer also tells their marketing target clearly.

The most iffy thing is its external appearance.
People may think that the shop is secret shop owned by Chinese.

Japanese can also use this shop, of course with duty.

If you are a Japanese, you can enjoy the feeling, without going abroad.
Something fishy feeling when you are brought to duty free shop by tour guide, when you travel as a member of overseas tour.
(Iffy appearance increases the fishy feeling for you.)

郷土の新名所 〜 新迷所

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

隣街の駅前に大型の施設が出来たというニュースが報道されました。

当宿のゲストが利用することもあるかと、下見に行ってきました。

北口・アニメオタクビルの裏（駐車場ビル）家電量販店の1階です。
（以前は1階も量販店でした。2階に家電を集結させ1階を空けたようです。）

なにが出来たのか？

そう「免税店」です。

大型バスが店に横付けして、団体観光客を呼び込む狙いのようです。

品揃えは韓国のゲストのFTT(Frequently Talked Topic)に出るアイテムがまとめ買い仕様で準備されています。
（5,000円以上の購入で消費税非課税となる仕組みです。）

ところが、駅から歩いていくと、一番近いのは専用出口で、
入り口は駅の反対側、、、不便この上ないレイアウトで、
個人客は目にないことが容易に見て取れます。

一番イマイチなのは、外観！
知らない人が見ると、中国人が経営する怪しい免税店の佇まい。

免税こそされませんが、日本人も利用できるそうです。

海外ツアー旅行に参加して最初と最後に連れて行かれる免税店、、、
あの「旅行感覚」を日本に居ながらにして味わえます。
（外観の怪しさがあの「このツアーヤバい感かも？」を増してくれます。）

この町で夢を！/ Try Your Dream in This Town!

Try Your Dream in This Town!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Last week, one young guest stayed in this guesthouse.

She was a teenager university student and came this town to confirm her dream and future job.

The reason why she came here is so this town.

Her dream is “MOVIE” (film making).

It was not confirmed yet, but she’s dreaming to work in the movie industry. She came to this town to join as an extra, and try to feel the atmosphere of making a film on the real location.

I thought that extras of films are structured by only local time-rich people. I was surprised to know that people who have concrete objective came to this town from other places in Japan.

By the way, filming schedule of last week was :
*Meeting Place : somewhere in Moji
*Meeting Time : 7:00am
*Finish time : Sunset

The place was so remote area and it seemed very difficult for her to show up there at 7 o’clock on time.

I wanted to bring her there, but I couldn’t. Because there were other guests staying in TOUKA.

However, one of our supporters volunteered to drive her there.

When she came back here, her face were full off satisfaction. She could not only feel the atmosphere as an extra, but also have a chance with movie staffs about film making.

TOUKA want to keep supporting dreaming young people like her, as the city of Kitakyushu is supporting film making.

By the way, it seems that my old elementary school also supporting film making.

この町で夢を！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先週からこの週末にかけて、1人の若いゲストが当宿を利用されました。

まだ10代の若いゲストは大阪の大学生で、自分の夢・進路を確認するためにこの町にやってきたのです。

その理由が、とてもこの町らしいのです。

そう、彼女の夢は映画、、、

まだ漠然ながら、映画の世界で働くことを夢見ていて、まずはエキストラに応募し、制作現場を肌で感じてみようとこの町にやってきたのでした。

これまで、エキストラと言えば、地元のタイムリッチな人が参加するものだとばかり思っていましたが、こうした目的を持って遠くからわざわざ参加する人がいることを知り、驚きました。

さて、今回のエキストラは、、、
集合場所: 門司区某所。
集合時間: 7時。
撮影時間: 日没まで。
集合場所がとても辺鄙なところで、遠くからはるばるやってきて足のない旅行者には参加が難しい条件です。

他にもゲストがいるので、自分が送り届けるのは無理でしたが、当宿のサポーターの中から送ってくれる人が見つかり、無事現場へ送り届けることができました。

夜中、撮影現場から戻ってきた彼女の表情は、とても晴れ晴れとしていて、充実感に満ちていました。現場の雰囲気を味わえただけでなく、映画制作スタッフとも話をすることができたようで、素敵な経験がたくさんできたようです。

「灯火」はこれからも夢に向かって進む若者をサポートをしていきたいと考えています。

ちなみに、わが母校も、この町での映画制作をサポートをしているようです。

それでは、いくつになっても夢を追い続ける素敵な人生を。

Better to Fix ASAP!

Ocean surface rises up during spring tide in Kanmon area.

“What will happen here, if sea level is risen up by global warming?”
I wondered during I took a walk sea side road,
and I found the object coincidentally.

It was the warship, I saw a day before, which hooked our lighted buoy.
It looked more spooky nearby.

Where will this ship head after this?

There was no buoy around its bow and
it seemed no damage on the ship.

However Kanmon Route is critical situation!

Patrol boat tried to substitute the buoy, day, evening and night. But it is very hard to stay in one place on Kanmon strait.

Fuel consumption must be high to stay there and several patrol boats rotate the role for refuel.

I wonder who pay the fee.
As both self-defense force and coast guard are paid by our tax, I hope that it will be paid by the insurance of tag boats, who made mistake to guide warship.

As of this Sunday, new buoy was located at the original spot.
That short lead time, which is less than a week, made me surprise.
During the lost period, someone substitute it with manpower and money and new one installed in such a short period.

The buoy must be very important.

It is locating at the hardest spot of the sea and works as a pair of green and red. Only one cannot guide ship to right direction.
Not like sea world, there is just floating, useless, rather obstructive things in the human world.

修復できるなら早いほうがいい！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

関門エリアでは大潮の期間、海面が盛り上がります。

「温暖化が進んで海面水位が上がるとどうなるんだろう？」
そんなことを考えながら、海辺を散歩していると、、、
埠頭で思いがけないものを見つけました。

「灯浮標」を引っ掛けた あの退役自衛艦です。
近くで見ると、この船いっそうオドロオドロシイ感じ。

ココを出航した後はいったいどこに向かうのでしょう？

船首に引っかかっていた「灯浮標」は取り除かれていました。

自衛艦の方はほぼ無傷のようですが、、
「灯浮標」のなくなってしまった関門航路は大変です。

小型の警戒船が、昼・夜問わず、代役を努めていますが、
関門海峡は潮の流れが早いので、留まっているだけで大変です。

留まるために、流れに逆らってエンジンを回し続けるので、
燃料補充の必要があるのか、数隻が交代して代役を果たします。

そのための費用は誰が払うのか気になります。
自衛隊でも、海上保安庁でも原資は税金です。
（操船ミスしたタグボートの保険で支払われると良いのですが）

そんな「灯浮標」ですが、、、
日曜の朝には新しいものが設置されていました。

残念ながら設置工事の様子を見ることができませんでしたが、
取り替えに一週間かからなかったのは驚きです。

灯浮標のない間は、人出とお金をかけてバックアップして、
驚くほど短期間で、元通りに設置し直す。

それは、この「灯浮標」が重要であるがこそ！

難所にあって、緑と赤との対で機能する海の道標。
片方だけでは船を正しい方向にガイドできません。

海とは違い、人の世には、ただフワフワ浮いているだけで、
不要どころか、むしろ邪魔なのまであるけれど、、。

それでは、どうぞ大切な誰かの、そして自分自身の道標をしっかり確保して素敵な航海（人生）を！
