About the wonderful spot of hometown (continued from previous article).
Answer is: Yes, it is under the sea!
Let’s pan up the camera to above the water and we can see rafts of ocean farming.
What are cultivated here?
Special Oysters are!
The oysters cultivated here are called with the brand, “BUZEN HITOTSUBU”.
These rafts are for the farming of them.
Then where these rafts are?
They are on the ocean close to our Airport.
Most of tourists from overseas who is increasing recently see this rafts on the way from airport to downtown Kitakyushu.
It is not bad to see airport and bridge from one of the rafts floating on the sea.
Around this Golden Week, a leader of fishermen corp brought me to his raft to watch his last seeding of oysters.
According to him, night view of airplane taking off from airport is very very beautiful.
I hope that I can see it someday.
I thought so on the way back to small port watching airport and cement quarries, once main industry of this area.
By the way, season of Kitakyushu’s speciality “BUZEN HITOTSUBU Oysters” is winter, middle of December to end of March. Specially best season is between January and February.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
昨日掲載した ふるさとの素敵スポットについて、、、
そうです、その通り、海の中です。
少し海面にカメラをあげてみると、、、
ここは筏（いかだ）の上。
何のための筏かというと、、、
ご当地イチオシの名産品「豊前一粒牡蠣」の養殖筏なんです。
でその、筏がどこにあるかですが、、、
空港に程近い海の上です。
最近急増している海外からの旅行客のほとんどは、空港からバスに乗りこの橋を渡る時に、ここに並ぶ筏を見ているだろうと思います。
そんな観光客とは反対に、海から空港や連絡橋を眺めるのも悪くはないです。
GWに前後して、今期最後のタネ牡蠣つけを、親同士が知り合いの漁協長さんに頼んで見学させてもらいました。
聞くところによると、夜の景色、飛び立つ飛行と空港がキラキラするのが、もっと素敵だそうです。
そのうち一度ぐらいは見に来れるかなぁ。
筏から、港へ戻る間、空港や、かつて栄えたセメント採石場をぼんやり眺めながらそんなことを考えていました。
尚、北九州の逸品「豊前一粒かき」の旬は冬！
12月の中旬以降3月頃迄。ベストシーズンは1月後半から2月です。
それでは、今からおいしい冬の収穫を想像して、ワクワクする一日を！
