Japanese Title (邦題)： 「11月11日に意外ないただき物！」末尾に
Got strange sweets on Nov. 11th!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
It is fine weekend with blue sea and blue sky.
On such fine day, we got a family guest.
They are nice people with full of smile.
When they were relaxing in the dining room, they gave me a share of their sweets.
It was THIS “빼빼로(pepero)”.
There is quite similar cookie in Japan but this is more popular in Korea.
Before I was retire from company, one of my colleague taught me,
“Nov. 11th is the day of POCKEY*”
(*chocolate stick cookie, one of GRICO’s brand)
But I found that there is a day called Pepero’s Day in Korea.
And the date is Nov. 11th.
In chronological order:
As a cookie products,
GRICO’s Pockey is about 17years older than Lotte’s Pepero.
As a event day,
Pepper’s Day has about 11years older history than Pockey’s Day.
In the past, people overlooked such product copy, if the copy was made in different country. However nowadays, people move across the border so frequently and consumer start wondering about this kind of phenomenon created with historical background.
In Japan, people may think that Japanese is always copied by some other countries.
However, there is a case that Japanese made copy. For example, new comer’s dominating the market, such as Donuts franchise, (Dunkin’ Donuts v.s. Mister Donuts) make me feel strange. Because people may think that once market approve the brand, the brand have the strong right in that market.
I have been thinking about this copied & similar product/service issue on the day of TPP negotiation. According to TV news, negotiators are reaching to amend or freeze parts of the pact relating intellectual property, with the withdrawal of the US.
There is similar business style and personal life affected by manual and trendy-words flooding in this world. So I decided to pursue my own style for both.

11月11日に意外ないただき物！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
海も空も真っ青な週末です。
ファミリーで滞在していただいたゲストさん。
笑顔のとても素敵な家族で、ダイニングでの団欒の時間に、
「これどうぞ」といただいたのが、
なんと、、、
韓国ではどうもこっちの方が一般的みたいです。
2年前会社を辞める直前に同僚から教えてもらいました。
「11月11日は（グリコの）ポッキーの日」
と言われているそうで、それは知っていました。
ところが調べてみると、海の向こうでは
ロッテの빼빼로（ペペロ、pepero）デーと言われる日があるそうです。
なんと、その日は「11月11日」。
時系列で見ると：
商品としては、
グリコのポッキーが、ロッテを17年ほど先行していて、
イベントとしては、
ロッテ商品のものが、グリコ商品を11年ほど先行してるようです。
国境を越えると、他国で真似していても、以前は見過ごされてしまいましたが、国境を越えて頻繁に人が行き来し始めると、消費者がその不自然さに気付き、違和感を感じるようになるようです。。
本件、日本が真似されてばかりのように思う人もいるかもしれません。
しかし、ドーナツ業界など、日本で後発企業が市場を席巻している例もあり、消費者が認めれば、それが正義だという理論が成り立つ可能性があり、どこか納得いかない気がします。
折しも、TPPの交渉で「知的財産」に関する凍結・先送りがニュースになった11月11日、国をこえての模倣・類似問題の将来に思いを巡らせました。（元は「元祖お土産まんじゅう」からの問題がいまや国際化しています。）
似たようなビジネス、マニュアルやトレンディワードに影響され、似たような生き方が氾濫する中、あらためて自分らしくいきたいと感じました。
