A Beast (야수) is living in the guesthouse!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Sometimes language involves big risk.
For one year, TOUKA have welcomed guests from various countries including neighbor country.
Yesterday, I got one critical question from one of the guests.
“Do you know the meaning of your name YASU in hangul?”
Answer is …
It was very interesting for myself. And I like it.
And I asked her “What kind beast you imagine with the word of YASU(야수)?”
Her answer is “Just a beast”
I asked her again to describe more concrete image.
She said “The word of YASU make me imagine the beast of the movie “Beauty and Beast”.”
YES, that is the answer I wanted to know.
I can be the prince some day!
Anyway, many Korean girls are coming to meet with the BEAST of this guesthouse, where only beautys can stay.

P.S. This time, I noticed that I’ve kept saying “Please call me BEAST.” or “Hello, this is BEAST.” It is better to check the meaning of my name in various languages.

その家、野獣が住んでいるらしい！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
時折、言語はとんでもないリスクを含んでいたりします。
この一年、ここ灯火ではいろんな国からのゲストを歓迎してきました。
もちろんその中にはお隣の国からのゲストもいらっしゃいました。
ところが昨日になって初めて、とてもとても重要な質問を受けたのです。
「ヤスっていう言葉の意味、ハングルでは何か知っていますか？」
その答えは、、、
自分にとっては非常に興味深くて、実は結構気に入ってたりします。
そこで彼女に質問してみました。
「ではハングルでヤス（야수）って聞いて、いったいどんな野獣を想像するの？」
彼女いわく「とにかく野獣よね」。
もう一度、さらに具体的にどんな姿の野獣を想像するのか問いただしてみると、、、
「う〜ん、そこまで聞かれて思いつくのは、ディズニーの「美女と野獣」の野獣ぐらいかなぁ？」
イエス！それこそが正に自分が聞きたかった答え。
きっと、いつの日にか素敵な王子様に戻るんだよね。
とにかく、意外にもたくさんの韓流女子達が「野獣」のいるゲストハウスを訪れ、滞在していかれます。「美女」のみが泊まれるというその宿に、、、

P.S. それにしても、、、
これまで「どうぞ自分のことは “野獣” とお呼び下さい」とか、「こんにちは、“野獣”です。」って恥ずかしげもなく言ってたんですね。自分の名前が他の言語でいったいどんな意味を持つのか、一度は確認する方がよいのかもしれませんね。
