From the other side

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Recently we have guests from the other side.

Guest who is living there, Guest who is stopped on the way back there and so on.
It seems that COVID-19 make opportunity for them to stay here.

It is bad infection but it doesn’t affect not only bad things.

We talked with the guests and we found that both of us have common senses in same hometown and Kanmon is one same living area in spite of two different prefectures.

Guests from neighbor town are better than relatives living far?

We do want to have more guests from Shimonoseki.

対岸の、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここのところ対岸のゲストさんによく利用いただいています。

住まわれている方、帰省された方などなど、何かしら新型コロナウイルスが関係してのご利用みたいです。

厄介な感染症ですが、悪い影響ばかりではないようです。

話をしてみると、どのゲストさんとも同郷的な共通の感覚があって、県こそ異なっても関門って同じ生活圏なんだとあらためて気付かされました。

遠くの親戚よりも、対岸からのゲスト！（あれ？）

もっと下関からのゲストさんにご利用いただきたいですね。

Both of us are making effort for ourselves!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Here is very important junction of ocean traffic.

There are so many ships going back and force
without calling port.

The number of passenger ships call at Kanmon are increasing recently.

Not only this side but also the other side.

They have also promoted themselves to get more ship to call at.
(They may have more ships already than this side.)

Both sides are making effort to become attractive place.

We hope that they will call here again with more passengers.
(The passengers will never use this guesthouse, because they come with the place to stay.)

どっちもがんばってるんだね！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここは国内有数の海上交通の要。

立ち寄ることもなく行き交う船の多い中、

ここ数年ようやく寄港する客船も増えてきました。

こちら側だけではありません。

対岸でも海外からの大型船の呼び込み、誘致に余念がありません。
（むしろ停泊数は対岸のほうが多いかも。）

両岸でこのユニークなエリアを盛り上げようと頑張っています。

次の寄港でも、また大勢を乗せてきてくれるといいですね。
（ウチには泊まることのない観光客しか乗っていませんが、、、泊まるトコ付きでくるので。）

Somebody else’s underpants is beautiful?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I had a thing to do at neighbor town and I went there.

I found one poster of promoting neighbor town and I noticed one thing.

There are several pictures on the poster. They are points of sightseeing in Yamaguchi pref. Most of them are photo of various places in Yamaguchi. However there is a land of Fukuoka pref. (Kyushu island) taken in only one picture. Which is picture to promote Kanmon area.

Not only the poster, but also TOUKA is showing Honshu Island’s city lights to our guests.

Some guests came long way to Kyushu from Honshu island but we showed them their island Honshu.

Both Shimonoseki and Moji are getting profit at someone else’s expense.

Yes, we cannot make business here without someone else’s existence/corporation.

P.S. “Night view of the other side is more beautiful” :
To tell the truth, the city lights of night view is more beautiful in Shimonoseki side than Moji side. So we watching better view from here Moji than Shimonoseki.

他人（ひと）のふんどしはキレイ？！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

用事ができて隣町に行きました。

そこで隣町制作した観光用のポスターを見つけて、あることに気付きました。

他は全て隣町の山口県が映っているのに、関門エリアの画像だけ「福岡」・「九州」が映っていることに、、、

かくいう当宿「灯火」も、ゲストにお見せしているのは本州側の夜景です。

なかには、はるばる本州の遠いところから九州までいらっしゃったゲストもいるのに、わざわざ本州を見せている。

お互いに他人のフンドシで相撲をとってるんです。
そう、ココでは、自分（こっち）だけキレイでも、自分（こっち）だけ上手くやりくりしても、やっていけません。

それでは、どうぞ周囲と調和・協調してさらに素敵な一日を！

P.S. 「対岸の夜景はキレイ」：こと夜景だけいえば、こちら側の夜景よりも、対岸の夜景のほうがキレイなので、いつも少しだけ申し訳ない／得している気がしています。
