We have views with sea – strait

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

To prevent infection, I am going out early morning and late night starting last week.

One morning, when I drove in this town, I found a big group of boats on the sea and they looked like flock of birds. One sales point of this town is that we can see the sea from everywhere in this town, if we go up a little higher place.

I have often seen this kind of view very early morning and I kept wondering what are they doing there. One fisherman taught me that they are fishing blowfish. This time of a year, blowfishes come around this strait. Blowfish is a famous seafood speciality here but it is my first time to know that they are fished such a close spot from land. Same time, he taught me that market price of fished blowfish is crushing lately. It is because high class Japanese restaurants have refrained their business because of COVID-19. Major demand of blowfish is structured by such restaurants.

COVID-19 infection affects to fishing business, doesn’t it? We do hope that normal life will come back here ASAP.

海のある風景 〜 海峡

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先週あたりから感染予防のため、人の裏をかいて外出時間を早朝と夜遅くにすることが多くなりました。

ある朝、町を移動していると海の上に、鳥の群れと間違うほどの船の集まりを発見しました。この町のお気に入りは少し高いところにあがれば、どこからでも海が見えることです。

早朝この光景を見かけることが多くて気にはなっていたのですが、知り合いの海の男に聞いて分かりました。関門ならではのふく漁の船だそうです。この時期、海峡にふくが回ってくるそうです。こんなところで取れてるんですね。あわせてふくのせり値が暴落していることも聞きました。高級食材としてのふくは料亭等の営業自粛で需要が冷え込んでいるそうです。
（*このあたりではフグのことをふくということが多いです。福にもかけて）

感染の影響は漁業にまで響いているんですね。早く普通の生活に戻って欲しいです。
