Not only night view

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In recent several years, night views have been more and more popular in this town.

But I personally think that goodness of this town is not only night views.

When I take a break during work, I take a walk. And only less than 10 min bring me to this seaside spot.

This town is not bad for both people living here and tourist taking rest during their trip to feel refreshed by the location near the sea.

夜景だけじゃないっ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ここ数年、夜景が注目されることが多くなってきましたが、

個人的には、この町の良さは夜景だけではないと思っています。

仕事がひと段落ついて、ちょっと息抜きに散歩をすると、、、

１０分もしないうちに海岸に出る、そんな海近、港町っていうところがやっぱり悪くないですね。

住んでる人間にとっても、また旅人にとっても、この海の近さゆえの爽快な気分を味わえる環境です。

それでは、午後はのんびり海にたたずむ素敵な一日を！

P.S. あ、忘れてました。今日午後からは記録的な寒波が到来して、大雪になるかもしれないんでした。

にっぽんを買おう！ / Let’s Buy Japan!

Let’s Buy Japan!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

That burger shop raised their prices again as of Monday.

Because of that, there was long line of cars making a big circle in front of their only shop in this town.

But their price increase in Japan is like this. (explaining for foreigners)

Now on their U.S. menu, BigMac Combo (=value set in Japan) costs $8.49.

BigMac value set cost $5.77 (=750JPY*) in Japan.

(*Currency of U.S.$ raised up to 130JPY/US$ after todays Nippon Bank’s statement.)

This means that U.S. BigMac cost 1.5 times more expensive than Japan BigMac.

This surprised me a lot, because BigMac costed only $2.99 when I lived in U.S. in late 1990s.

The price got reversed between U.S. and Japan.

So we want to speak up “Buy Japan!” now.

(In today’s news, some Chinese already tried to buy all analgesic antipyretic in a drugstore.)

We want more and more sensible tourists from overseas, don’t we?

As Japanese tend to save money and doesn’t spend, all we can expect is the eagerness to buy of foreigners.

にっぽんを買おう！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

あのお店がまた今週月曜日に値上げしました。

そのせいか先週末の日曜は当町に唯一の店舗は長蛇の（車の）列が駐車場一周してました。

でもね、値上げといっても、こんな感じです（海外の皆さんに向けての口調）。

（左が新価格、右が旧価格）

というのは、今アメリカではBigMacのコンボ（日本でいうバリューセット）が$8.49。

これを日本円に換算すると*1,104円。

（*今日の日銀の金融政策会合の結果を受け、円安傾向になり130円/US$台 本日付）

たとえ値上げしても日本のBigMacバリューセットは750円なので、アメリカ本国の方が1.５倍も高いことになります。

自分が駐在していた頃、アメリカでは同メニューがわずか2.99US$と安くて驚いていたのが、それが今や逆転状態。

というわけで、今、にっぽんは「買い」です！

（すでに薬局中の鎮痛・解熱剤を全て買い占めようとした中国人のことが報じられていましたが、、、）

分別のある外国人観光客、どんどん日本に来てほしいですね。

日本人が貯蓄優先でお金を使わない分、外国人の購買意欲に期待が集まります。

Remember 2020!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

How did you spend New Year holidays without movement restrictions.

Even around this town, we had seen so many people in downtown, events, and major public transportations, that we almost forgot pandemic.

But we may have any problem, as we have only slight fever and pain, even if we get infected.

It will be fixed as long as we take antipyretic analgesic bought at drugstore and take a rest for few days.

However, we found that the drug inventory level got low, when I went to my favorite supermarket.

We could get one kind of antipyretic analgesic but most popular one was out of stock for days.

That situation reminds me spring of 2020.

At that time, all kind of face masks were out of stock in any drug stores all over Japan, because tourists from a neighbor country bought them up earlier spring.

We are afraid that similar situation will be back again.

Fortunately, their going out to other countries are still restricted and that make us feel a little easy. But if their government loosen the restriction, we cannot imagine what will be happened in this country. We heard that

行動制限のない年末年始、いかが過ごされたでしょうか？

この近辺でも町やイベント、主要交通機関には人が溢れ、コロナ禍を忘れてしまうほどでした。

まあ感染してもおそらく軽症で済みそうだし、心配することなんてないでしょうね。

熱が出れば、薬局かドラッグストアで鎮痛解熱剤かって少しだけ安静にしていれば治っちゃいますしね。

ところが、、、行きつけのスーパーの薬剤部に行くと、なんと品切れの商品が多い！

バ◯ァ◯ンは前日に入荷したということで一つ入手することができましたが、人気のイ◯に至ってはどのタイプも品切れです。

そんな棚の様子を見て思い出したのが2020年春のマスク、、、

当時は隣国からの旅行者が買い占めて行ってしまったために、どのドラッグストアも棚は空っぽ。

あの頃の状態が再来するのでは、と不安になります。

幸いまだ彼らの出国は制限されているようなので、少し安心ですが、まもなく訪れる旧正月いわゆる春節にもし海外旅行が解禁されでもしたら、、、かの国では尋常ではないほど感染拡大しているとも聞きます。

まぁ、でもきっと大丈夫でしょう。今や感染しても軽症だから、、、

それでは、時代と共に人流も先読みして素敵な一日を！
