Underlying Strength of Komorie #3! feat. Kitakyushu Marathon
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
This time, let’s focus on our KOMORIE as a important milestone of Kitakyushu Marathon.
KOMORIE locates at 27km point on the way, and
35km point on the way back.
Between 27km point and 35km point, there were many things.
Starting with Photo point taken by pro-cameraman of Newspaper.
Next, there is watering station*, of course.
(*Locating in front of Asahi Factory but NO BEER in cups.)
To supply energy for runners to keep on running,
volunteers supply BANANA (Moji’s speciality) and
some of them supply BOTAMOCHI (sweet bean paste rice cake), which is popular Japanese sweets, supplied by local famous UDON shop.
In this area, many medical supporters were also located.
27-35km might be the hardest section for runners.
For such exhausted runner, here might be the best place to make the ultimate decision (keep running or gave-up).
Because there is JR Komorie station near by and we can go both Mojiko (next station) and Kokura (Start/finish place. 2nd station from Komorie).
(If the runner is our guest of TOUKA, he/she can decide to go back TOUKA to take a rest. 🙂
Two crossroads to make big decision in the long distance of running.
Komorie is such milestones for the runner (of life).

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
さらにこの地「小森江」を北九州マラソンのマイルストンとしてみてみましょう。
小森江は往路「27km」地点、
復路「35km」地点の間に位置しています。
その区間には、新聞社の撮影ポイントに始まり、
もちろん「給水ステーション」。
*アサヒの工場前ですが、カップの中はビールではありません。
エネルギーサプライのために、
門司らしい「バナナ」補給、
さらになんと、ローカルうどん店名物の「ぼた餅」まで提供されます。
この区間にはメディカルスタッフも多く配置されています。
ランナーにとって、27〜35kmは最もつらい区間かもしれません。
そんなランナー達が究極の選択を行う（走り続ける vs リタイアする）のに、最適な場所といえるかもしれません。
なぜなら、小森江駅がすぐそばにあって、門司港へはひと駅、小倉に戻るにもふた駅、だからです。
（当宿のゲストであれば、辞めて宿でひと休みも可能です。：）
長い行程でそれが有効に判断できる通過点が二度訪れる（27km・35km）場所。
それが「小森江」です。
