Get rejuvenated!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

This job makes us to connect with the generations which we cannot communicate in normal routine of life.

This weekend, we learned about the world we have never know in our past life.

若返るっ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

普段生活しているだけでは、接点のない若者たちと触れ合うことの出来るこの仕事。

この週末は、自分の世代の知らない世界をゲストに教えてもらいました。

残念？それともラッキー？/ Is it unfortunate? or fortunate?

Is it unfortunate? or fortunate?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Because of strong cold wave, it suddenly became very cold in Kanmon area on Monday.

In Monday night, strong wind changed to white snow. When I checked our garden, wood deck colored white in the midnight.

I have expected that I can see a world of white outside of this window, however what I saw on Tuesday morning was:

Not bad weather and I couldn’t see any snow in my sight. (It was really cold morning though.)

As an owner of a guesthouse on the hill, I should be very happy without snow. However, honestly speaking, I do want to see th strait view in white.

残念？それともラッキー？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

強烈な寒波のせいで、今週月曜日からここ関門エリアでは急に寒くなりました。

強烈な北風は、月曜の夜から白いものに変わり、深夜当宿の庭に配置しているウッドデッキは白く変わっていました。

このままいけば、火曜日の朝は白銀の世界かも、と期待(?)しましたが、蓋を開けてみれば、、、

白いものは跡形もなく消え去り、火曜日の関門エリアは意外と良い天気でした。（底冷えする気温でしたけれど）

急坂の上にある宿主としては、積雪のなかったことを喜ぶべきでしょうが、実は海峡を望む風景が白銀に変わるのを見たかった気もしています。

それでは、雪の日も楽しく素敵な一日を！

見返り坂！/ Looking back corner

Looking back corner

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Our guest who ran full 42.195km checked out Monday morning.

He walk down the slope and looked back to this guesthouse, like other guests have do so.

After that I found that there are white‐crested waves everywhere in the strait, when I cleaned guest room.

When I went out for shopping, I felt stonier wind and saw waves crashed at the pier and it got wet everywhere.

The guest said that Sunday race was tough because of the wind. But Sunday was better to run than Monday.

Wind was much colder and stronger than those of Sunday.
(Not a few runners and supporters may be suffered hypothermia.)

見返り坂

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日曜日 42.195kmを走り遂げたゲストが、月曜の朝 元気にチェックアウトしていきました。

駅に向かって坂を降りる途中、他のゲストと同じように、同じ場所で手を上げ再会を祈願してくれました。

部屋を掃除しながら窓の外を見ると、海峡は強風で白波が立っています。

午後買い物に出かけた時には、さらに風が強くなっていて、岸壁に打ち付ける波は白く砕けて、あたり一面を水浸しにしていました。

日曜のレース、ゲストは向かい風が強くて大変だったと言っていましたが、風の強さ・冷たさどちらをとっても月曜の比ではありません。

あいにくの雨でしたが、マラソンは日曜の開催でよかったとつくづく思います。
（ランナーも沿道の応援も、低体温症になってしまう人が出たかもしれません。）
