Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are in the middle of winter now. This is the start of season for us.

Good waves are coming to the beach. And there are guys, who have waited for them, on the beach everyday.
Photo was taken on the day with comparably small waves. But they had good shape and people were there.

残念？それともラッキー？/ Is it unfortunate? or fortunate?

Is it unfortunate? or fortunate?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Because of strong cold wave, it suddenly became very cold in Kanmon area on Monday.

In Monday night, strong wind changed to white snow. When I checked our garden, wood deck colored white in the midnight.

I have expected that I can see a world of white outside of this window, however what I saw on Tuesday morning was:

Not bad weather and I couldn’t see any snow in my sight. (It was really cold morning though.)

As an owner of a guesthouse on the hill, I should be very happy without snow. However, honestly speaking, I do want to see th strait view in white.

残念？それともラッキー？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

強烈な寒波のせいで、今週月曜日からここ関門エリアでは急に寒くなりました。

強烈な北風は、月曜の夜から白いものに変わり、深夜当宿の庭に配置しているウッドデッキは白く変わっていました。

このままいけば、火曜日の朝は白銀の世界かも、と期待(?)しましたが、蓋を開けてみれば、、、

白いものは跡形もなく消え去り、火曜日の関門エリアは意外と良い天気でした。（底冷えする気温でしたけれど）

急坂の上にある宿主としては、積雪のなかったことを喜ぶべきでしょうが、実は海峡を望む風景が白銀に変わるのを見たかった気もしています。

Snow started falling in Tuesday evening became very hard late night. But what we saw Wednesday’s morning was Kanmon area slightly covered with snow.

It is always better with light white makeup in case with snow.
I do like neither women(cosmetic) nor town(snow) with heavy makeup.

Snow aside, temperature was extremely cold here.

TV news said that it is super cold all over Japan.
Same as other places in Japan, it is as cold as my fingers have chilblains for the first time in decades.

Our guest seemed to enjoy hot spring at Beppu, Oita.
Hot spring sounds good, specially with seeing snow falling.

やっぱり薄化粧がいい！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

火曜日の夕方に降り始めた雪は、暗くなってから一時激しく降るも、夜が明けて見ると関門エリアには程よく薄っすら雪化粧という感じになりました。

雪は薄化粧ぐらいがちょうどいいですね。
厚化粧はどれも勘弁ですね。

雪はともかく、このあたりも冷え切っています。

日本列島全てが凍えているみたいですが、ほんと数十年ぶりの「しもやけ」になりそうな寒さです。

ゲストさんは温泉に浸かりに別府へ行ってきたそうです。
温泉、、、いいですよね。雪を見ながらだと、なおさら、、、
