Mysterious Window!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

There were bunch of people in the port town, because one of biggest events in the area was held. Name of the event was “Mojiko Grand Market”.

All parking lots were full and many cars made lines on streets. In the town was full of high sense ladies.

There is so many people that some of them went to “Idemitsu Museum” renewal-opened few days before.

So, this time I focus on a mysterious window in the museum which I found in the first day.

The window was located in foyer on the 2nd floor.

(There are free tee service machine there. One spot of recommendation for taking rest.)

The window seems to be only window which guests can access on the east side wall of the building.

The window has very unique window frame. It is slanted upper right direction.

Upper slant can be understood for the purpose that people outside cannot see inside.

But I couldn’t find out why it slanted right.

After watching museum, I walked to the direction where the window slanted. And I found interesting place.

It is …

I could make myself understood by this.

But when I asked one of museum staff about the window, he said that there is no reason for the slant and such window frame was just used without any purpose. So the true purpose is still in mystery.

Don’t you feel cool if the only window on the east side is showing the founding place without any explanation.

謎の窓！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

先の週末は秋晴れの良い天気にも恵まれ、港町は大賑わい。
どうもエリア最大級のイベント「グランマーケット」が開催されたのが最大の理由のようです。

ほとんどの駐車場の前に車が行列をなし、会場はおしゃれ意識の高い女性たちを中心に多くのイベント参加者で溢れていました。

人に溢れるレトロエリア、きっとリニューアルオープンしたばかりの「出光美術館」に訪れた方も多いのではないかと思います。

オープン当日に訪れたその美術館に謎の窓を見つけたのでそれについて記事にしてみます。

その窓は二階のホワイエ(foyer 休憩場所)にあります。

（ココには無料の給茶機（＝太っ腹）があって、ホッと一息つけるオススメのスポットです）

一般客がアクセスできるスペースとしては、美術館の建物の東側（線路側）に唯一ある窓のようです。

その窓ですが、よくみると壁から窓枠にかけて、不思議な切れ上がりをしているのです。
正面からみると右斜め上に切り上がっています。

上斜め方向に切れ上がっているのは、外にある線路脇の通路から中が見えないようにするためだとすぐ分かるのですが、右斜めに切れ上がっている理由が分かりません。

観覧を終えた後、裏手にまわりその窓を確認、窓の指す斜め方向に進んでみました。

その先にあったものは、、、、

自分はその解釈でかなり納得したのですが、、、

実は館内で美術館スタッフに窓のことを質問した際には、特に意味はなく、そういうデザインの窓枠を採用しただけとのコメントでした。 とうわけで、この窓についての謎は解けぬままの状態です。

東側にたった一つしかない窓、その窓は説明されることもなく、ひっそり創業の場所を覗いている。 そんな風に考えるほうが「粋」だとは思いませんか？
