Happy New Year to the World and Kanmon!
In the last year 2016, many people supported us to open TOUKA and many guests from various countries and places visited here. We thank you all. A guest who stayed in Dec commented that TOUKA is relaxing place like 삼촌집 and he promised to come back.
I think that is best word for us.
( 삼촌집 means “Uncle’s House” )
The New Year Day of TOUKA is starting with the fist sunrise of 2017.
We left home 6:00am and climbed up our backyard mountain.
On the top of the mountain, there were many people already and ZENZAI (Sweet soup of beans) were distributed all people there.
After eating ZENZAI, we walked to open space in east of the top and we saw sky was turned to pink.
Soon perfect red round sun was rising into the cloud.
Later, bright sun coming out from the cloud.
We could enjoy the first sunrise of 2017 twice.
Thank you and you have a blight new year like the sunrise.
And please come to visit TOUKA.

謹賀新年 from 삼촌집！
世界中に新しい年が、そして関門にも新年 2017がやって来ました。
おはようございます。
旧年2016年には、当宿「灯火」開業にあたり、ご支援いただいた方々、そしてご利用いただいたゲストの皆さまには大変お世話になりました。 12月に宿泊されたゲストさんには「とてもリラックスできて、まるで삼촌집のよう。是非また来たい。」との最高のお言葉をいただき感激しました。
（삼촌집とは、叔父さんの家という意。）
どうぞ新しい年 2017年もよろしくお願い致します。
さて「灯火」の新年は初日の出とともに始まりました。
6時過ぎにココを出て、裏山に登るとそこにはもう人だかりができていて、そこではぜんざいが振る舞われていました。
美味しいぜんざいを食べて東側の開けた広場に出ると、もう空が赤らんでいます。
ほどなく、まずは雲の下に真っ赤な朝日が登ってきました。
しばらくすると、次にその雲から輝く太陽が顔を見せました。
2017年は初日の出は二度も楽しめるなんとも有り難い初日の出でした。
それでは、どうぞ初日の出のように光り輝く素敵な一年を！
というわけで、本年も、灯台下のちいさいゲストハウス「灯火」をどうぞよろしくお願い致します。
そしてどうぞここ「灯火」にお越しください。
受付の向こう、この景色をバックに삼촌집が「おかえりなさい」とお迎えする日を待っています。

P.S. We saw rain was moving arround Kokura. According to another guest who went Kokura for sightseeing, it started heavy rain suddenly. Kitakyushu seems small but sometimes big, we thought.
