Feel afterglow of summer and arrival of autumn

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The last day of the week to be reluctant to part with this summer was very enjoyable for me with good size waves.

I did enjoy surfing just for two hours and later both wind and wave became very hard. We couldn’t stand on neither beach nor surf. (Those might be caused by far typhoon?)

Lifeguards showed up and removed all red flags with “No Swimming” notice from the beach. It might be because of the end of beach season.

As I got time unexpectedly, I decided to drive up to a hight to enjoy picnic with watching beautiful view and sky.

I had a good OBENTO lunch there, watching clouds were moving so fast.

Watching wide view, I noticed BGM.

I heard the first TSUKUTSUKUBOUSHI (species of cicada in the beginning of autumn) singing in the woods. I felt the end of summer.

The finishing blow to end this summer was the cluster amaryllis blooming at the side of parking lot.

I did feel the arrival of autumn.

This typhoon must change the color of season to autumn, we think.

全身で感じる夏の余韻と秋の訪れ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

夏を名残惜しむ週間の最終日は、波のサイズも上がって二時間ほどでしたが満喫することが出来ました。

その後は波風ともに強くなり、海にいれる状況ではなくなりました。（台風の影響？）

ライフガード達がやってきて、遊泳禁止の赤旗を片付けていきます。

そのせいで思いがけずに時間が出来たため、昼食は空を見ながら食べたいなと、高台に上ってピクニック。

スピードを上げて流れていく雲をおかずに美味しくお弁当をいただきました。

景色を眺めながら、ふとBGMに気が付きます。

なんとツクツクボウシ！ 夏ももう終わりですね。

展望台から離れて駐車場にもどると畑の脇には彼岸花、、、、

秋の訪れですね。

きっとこの台風が一層秋色を深めていくことでしょう。

What is this for? For fireworks festival?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Yesterday’s rain was so heavy that water blew up through the gap in the manhole cover in the afternoon.

That rain stopped in the evening. Just after we felt relieved…

Both of national road #3 and #119 which run under the hill of our guesthouse were extremely crowded.

That was just like super heavy traffic jam for “Kanmon Strait Fireworks Festival” which supposed to be held during OBON period.

It seemed that toll roads and Kanmon bridge, one of only two route to cross the strait by car, were closed due to the heavy rain. So all drives drove toward the other route, Kanmon tunnel, and that created such bad traffic jam.

That was really bad traffic jam.

But when we think about it more closely, we find that Kanmon tunnel is “the method to drive across prefectures”, which we told to refrain from doing it. Is it only me who felt strange that such tunnel was congested by too many cars.

Anyway, we could enjoy normal OBON even in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you and you have a nice day without moving across prefecture and not spreading the Delta variant infection.

あれ、なにコレ？花火大会？！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

昨日の雨はもの凄くて、午後の段階ではマンホールからは水吹き上げていました。

そんな雨も夕方には止み、ホッと一息ついたと思ったら、、、

当宿の坂下に走る二本の国道、３号線・１１９号線のどちらもが鬼のように渋滞していました。

お盆だけに「関門海峡花火大会」の渋滞のような激しい渋滞です。

その正体は、お盆の国民の大移動に車で海峡を渡る手段のうちの一つ、関門橋が通行止め、皆が関門トンネルに集中してしまったための渋滞だったようです。

それにしてもスゴい渋滞でした！

でもよく考えてみると、、、関門トンネルって自粛するように言われている「県をまたぐ」手段です。そこが渋滞するなんて「なんか変だな」と感じてしまうのは自分だけでしょうか？

兎にも角にも、パンデミック真っ最中にもかかわらず、いつものお盆を満喫できた変な一日でした。

それでは、県境をまたがずに、デルタ株感染を広げずに、素敵な一日を！

不安定 / Unstable

Unstable

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In the weekend, it was very hot in this Kanmon area but the atmospheric conditions were unstable. So we had heavy rain every night.

It was downpour with thunders in Sunday night.

However thunders we could see from here TOUKA were mysteriously beautiful and powerful (though it may be unscrupulous, if we say so).

Thunders were much more splendid than big fireworks set off in the summer festival* of this strait every mid-summer. So I stared at the thunders at the window for a while.
(*Not like Olympic game, unfortunately, the summer festival here will be cancelled again this summer.)

We did recognized that human beings are powerless before nature, such as downpour and thunder storm.

不安定

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この週末の関門エリアは暑いけれども、大気が不安定なため毎晩夜中は大雨です。

それも雷が鳴り響く滝のような豪雨でした。

でも、ここ灯火から眺める雷は、不思議と綺麗で迫力満点（不謹慎かもしれませんが）です。

お盆にこの海峡で打ち上げられる三尺玉の大花火*ですら比べものにならないぐらいスゴくて、しばらく窓のそばで見入ってしまいました。
（*オリンピックとは異なり、花火大会は残念ながら今年も中止です。）

大雨や雷の前では、人間なんてちっぽけな存在だと思い知らされます。

それでは、自然に対する畏怖の念を忘れずに素敵な一日を！
