The unusual Rival!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
After guests’ check-out, I cleaned the house and left it with sweaty shirt.
For the Mekari Seawater Swimming Pool!
On the way, I always compete with east bound boat from under the bridge to the pool. But yesterday’s competitor was unusual one.
Yes, it was “Kokura/Matsuyama Ferry”, which doesn’t run in daylight.
It usually cruise midnight. It may be running in daylight yesterday, because two strong typhoons have made their schedule change. That ferry belongs to the only one domestic ferry line which goes through this straits and under the bridge. It is my most favorite boat than huge passenger cruise boat.
By the way, the swimming pool, the goal of the race, has very few people/kids. It is still middle of summer and kids has 1/4 more summer vacations.
I heard that the swimming pool will never close, because it is the part of the Mojiko Retro Development Project. But I think the idea can be change easily, if small but small change will be happened. Some of Key people may think suspicious about the value of this swimming pool.
Objectively it is very strange that there are more old men life guards than the people/kids who use the swimming pool. Only staffs don’t notice that abnormal situation.
I personally like this private pool like atmosphere very much, though.

P.S. It is not only this swimming pool that only staffs don’t understand the strange and abnormal aspects (both in a good way and bad way) of this town.

いつもと違う相手！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
ゲストがチェックアウトした後、掃除をして、汗をかいたまま車に飛び乗ります。
向かう先は「和布刈塩水プール」。
プールへ向かう道、橋の下からプールまでの間はいつも東行きの船と競争になるのですが、昨日の相手はいつもとは違いました。
そうそれは「小倉・松山フェリー」！
深夜に航海するフェリーなので、日中こんなところを走っているのを見ることはありません。おそらく立て続けにやって来る２つの台風の影響で配船調整しなくてはならなくなったのでしょう。今では、国内定期航路として関門橋をくぐるのはこのフェリーしかなくなりました。実は豪華客船よりこのフェリーの方がずっと好きだったりします。
ところでこの塩水プールですが、夏休みはまだ1/4も残っているのに、異様に利用者が少ないです。（自分が小学生だった頃、夏休みは子供で溢れていました。）
このプールは門司港レトロ開発事業の一環として登録されているために、閉鎖はないということを聞いたのですが、なにか状況が少しでも変われば、そんな決定は簡単に覆されるないかと危惧します。母校のように。
客観的に見て、お客よりも黄色いシャツ着たおじさん（おじいさん）ライフガードの方がはるかに多い状況は異常でしょう。どうもそのことに気がついていないのは関係者だけなのかもしれません。開発事業の一環として来場する人はいないようなので、プロモーション（努力）が足りていないように感じます。
個人的にはまるでプライベート・プールのように使える今の環境は大好きなんですけどね。

P.S. この町の（良い意味でも悪い意味でも）特異で、異常な状況に当事者が気付いていないのは、なにもこのプールに限ったことではありません。
