Ah, that town is engulfed in flames

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I was surprised when I turned on the TV.

Once, when the damage from the earthquake and tsunami had subsided, the town I cycled through to see for myself how much recovery had been achieved in the area I had supported as a volunteer was now engulfed in flames now.

As with the previous fires in California, Lahaina in Hawaii and earthquake at Suzu in Noto, it is heartbreaking when a town I know is struck by a disaster.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

テレビをつけて驚きました。

かつて震災津波被害が落ち着いた頃、ボランティアで支援した地域がどれだけ復興したか、この目で確かめようと自転車で巡った町が今炎に包まれています。

以前のカリフォルニア州やハワイのラハイナの火災、珠洲の地震でもそうでしたが、知っている町が災害に見舞われるのは、心が痛みます。

The day of pray!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

9 years have passed since that day, as of tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I will remember the broken towns I saw, the stories I heard from the people in Iwate and beautiful sea of Sanriku, and pray for them.

(When I volunteered there, sea of Sanriku was very beautiful without any farming rafts and any other.)

This Strait and this mind are connected to the sea of Sanriku.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

あれから９年。

明日は、、、この目で見た三陸の町、この耳で聞いた岩手の人たちの話、この体全体で感じた三陸の海のことを思い出して静かに祈ろうと思います。

そして、この海峡もこの心も三陸の海とつながっています。

There are some people whom I’ve thought of in the port town in east Japan connected with this town by the sea.

One of them was drawn in Tsunami after the earthquake.

That sea and this sea are connected,
but because we can use e-mail and social network system,
so I use old-fashioned hand-written and analog method to connect with them.

I really hope this seventh year will be LUCKY SEVEN year.
And I hope they will have happy thing in this year in east port town.

I am here in body, but not in spirit.
So I stop moving and think of the sea in the east.

自分には目の前のこの海とつながる、東の港町に想いを寄せる人がいらっしゃいます。
