New Year Day in Kanmon

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We thought that this new year started under calm climate,

however we got sudden disaster alert.

A Tsunami warning was also issued for Haedomari Port in Shimonoseki on the opposite coast.

As the result, the Tsunami hasn’t come in to this strait.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to those affected by the disaster.

関門のニューイヤーデイ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

穏やかな気候で始まった、と思った新年ですが、

夕方には突然災害アラートが！

なんと対岸下関の南風泊港にも津波の注意報が出ていました。

結局、この関門海峡には津波は入ってこなかったようですが、

被災された方々に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

Thinking of the towns

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Well, how did you spend yesterday, March 11th?

For myself, it is the day to think of SANRIKU area quietly. As I had visited there 5 times for volunteering and 3 times for traveling/visiting people there (including cycling trip through SANRIKU), I can remember realistically most of the towns broadcast by TV stations on the day.

As I saw, met, and pedaled the areas actually, my memories are still so vivid. So, March 11th is the day for me to think over the things I saw there, the people I met there, and the episodes I listened there.

However now I wonder that we should start utilizing our thought for TOHOKU to each own town we are living, as well as just thinking of TOHOKU.

あの町のことを想って

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

さて、昨日3月11日いかが過ごされましたか？

自分にとってこの日は静かに三陸のことを想う日。５度のボランティア訪問、自転車での三陸縦断を含む３度の被災地をめぐる旅を通して、毎年テレビで中継される場所はほぼ全てリアルに思い出すことができます。

実際に見て、会って、自分の足で巡ったことでその記憶は鮮明です。そしてそこで見たもの、会った人、聞いた話に思いを巡らす、そんな日が自分にとっての毎年3月11日です。

でも今思うのは、震災から１０年以上経ち、個人的にはただ被災地を想うだけでなく、その想いを自分の身近に活かすステージに入っているのではということです。

それでは、未曾有の災害とその記憶を自分なりに咀嚼して身の回りに活かす素敵な一日を！

まさか？！/ Really?!

Really?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Every TV station in Japan was talking about TSUNAMI caused by volcanic eruption in Tonga.

As I did want to know different information, so I turned on my PC and browsed my favorite sites.

And I was surprised by moving picture of live web cam at my familiar spots.

Unbelievable!

Even if they are at Japanese sea side (not pacific side).

But after I thought calmly, I remember that I went into the sea when typhoon was approaching.

We are the people who are not disciplined, aren’t we?

まさか？！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日曜の午前中、日本のテレビはトンガ沖の火山噴火による津波の話題で持ちきり。

他の情報も知りたいと、パソコンを立ち上げお気に入り登録しているサイトを順に見ていくと、、、

日本海側だから、とは言ってもね。

でも、台風接近の時は自分も海に入ったりするから、人のことはいえないかも。

自分も含め懲りない面々なんでしょうね。
