The Japanese Summer!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On the previous article, we talked about a Japanese cultural event “OBON”.

OBON’s special/popular event in Kanmon area is Fireworks Festival.
Unfortunately, the festival was canceled, because of COVID-19 infection.

But I saw many people gathering around piers in the night of August 13th and

Surprising fireworks were launched there. Fireworks were launched from not only one place but also several places.

It was very short show, about 10min, but we could enjoy the Japanese Summer very much.

にっぽんの夏！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

前回、日本のお盆について話題にしましたが、、、

ここ関門のお盆といえば、関門海峡大花火大会です。
残念ながら今年は新型コロナウイルスの感染のために開催は中止となってしまいました。

ところが、例年の開催日である８月１３日の夜、やけに海岸に人が集まっていると思ったら、、、

サプライズの花火が上がっていました。

それも海峡のあちらこちらで！

ほんの１０分ほどの短い時間でしたが、にっぽんの夏を満喫できたひと時でした。

Summer Sky!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On the next day of sudden downpour, temperature went up even in the morning and we were in fierce heat before noon.

When we looked up to our lighthouse, we saw cumulonimbus raising up behind it.

Yes, we are in midsummer!

Let’s enjoy it after visiting your family grave* for your ancestors.
(*In Japan, we call this period “OBON” believing that our ancestors comes back to home and celebrate it. It is seasonal event like Chuseok in Korea.)

なつぞら！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ゲリラ豪雨の翌日の関門エリア、朝から急激に気温が上がって、お昼前には猛暑です。

涼しいうちにお墓参りを済ませて、夏を満喫しましょう！
（日本ではこの時期を「お盆」と呼び、先祖が帰ってくると信じられています。韓国の秋夕（チュソク）のようなです行事です。）

Enjoy westering sun

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In these days, we have had heavy rain day after day. The peak of the rain was Tuesday, and it stopped Wednesday morning and we got sun around noon after a long time. It might be a break in TSUYU rainy season/heavy rain.

When the sun got westering, we felt very bright. Usually it is not only bright but also hot and we shut it off with curtains, but we enjoyed it yesterday very much.

Weather forecast says that we will have heavy rain again, but it may be the the last rain. After the rain, we hope to be in

Summer!

西日がうれしい

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここのところ雨続きの関門エリアです。火曜日に雨のピークを迎え、明けて水曜日の朝には雨はやみ、お昼ごろから久しぶりの陽の光が差してきました。梅雨の中休み、いや豪雨の中休みでしょうか？

日が少し傾くと、眩しいくらいに。普段は眩しい上に熱くてカーテン等で遮光する西日ですが、なぜかうれしくて洗濯後の西日を浴びて過ごしてしまいました。

これからまた雨が降るようですが、これが止めば、きっと、、、
