Japanese Title (邦題)： 「４０メートル級！」末尾に
40 meters class!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I keep going to the beach in the daytime after finishing preparation or on the day with no guest.
Usually I enjoy on the waves a little higher than 1 meter or maximum 2 meters size.
On the day without good waves, I watch video with fear which strong surfers attack to 10 meters class Hawaiian and Spanish waves.
2 meters class wave is enough big for me, but it seemed that some Tsunamis struck Sanriku Coast were 40 meters class.
(Pictures are taken at “Past Tsunami Inundation Section” and “Kanko Hotel” in Miyako, Iwate. Past Tsunami Inundation Sections were at 29 meters and 37 meters above sea level.)
40 meters class is unbelievable size for me. Another thing surprised me was that Tsunami reached point was in the middle of mountains, quite far from the coast line.
Recently, we Japanese have hear that it is important to understand at first and fear correctly. And I think it is important against Tsunami too.

４０メートル級！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
宿の準備を終えた昼間や、ゲストのない日には北九州と周辺のビーチに行っています。
通常は１メートルちょっとか、あっても２メートルぐらいの波に遊ばれています。
波のない日には、ハワイやスペインの１０メートルクラスの波に挑む猛者達の姿を鳥肌を立てながら見たりもします。
自分にとっては２メートルで大波ですが、三陸海岸を襲った波には４０メートルクラスのものがあったようです。

信じられないサイズです。驚くのは海岸線からずいぶん離れた場所まで到達していることです。
最近よく聞く言葉ですが「よく理解して、正しく恐れる」必要は波に対してもあるように感じています。
