To get the ability to look through the unclear situation

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Lately, we keep wondering whether this emergency declaration will be over next month or not. Will we be able to get stable and peaceful life in June?
We cannot look through this chaos into the blight future.

Under such unclear present situation, we keep considering how to make this guesthouse more comfortable.

This time we tackled was : Screen window!

In preparation for coming season, we changed the nets of our screen windows.

We replaced old gray screen to black screen.

We tend to think black is darker and that make less visibility. However we got clearer view than used to be.

先を見通す力を手に入れる

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

緊急事態宣言、、、本当に来月解除されるのでしょうか？６月になれば安定・安心できる生活が帰ってくるのでしょうか？
ここのところ先に不安な要素が多すぎて、未来が見えません。

そんな外出自粛の状況下、少しでも滞在が快適になるように色々検討しています。

今回取り組んだのは、、、

網戸！

これからのシーズンに向けて、張り替えてみました。

これまでのグレーの網をブラックの網に変えてみました。イメージ的には黒の方が見通せないように思ってましたが、なんということでしょう～、外の景色がはっきりとよく見えるようになりました。

Golden Stay-home Week!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Happy Golden Week has passed very fast, hasn’t it?
Sorry, it is not Golden Week, but Stay-home Week in Japan.

Not only emergency declaration but also surfers’ own declaration of “No Surf Week” in here Fukuoka prevent us from going out and beach. So I have kept myself in “Stay Guesthouse”. (Guesthouse, but not traveling. Because my base is this guesthouse.) and I tried to clean where I have not be able to clean usually.

During the period, we had heavy rainy day but Children’s day holiday, 5th, and the next holiday, 6th, were fine days. Those days were really good for cleaning.

Each day after cleaning, I could enjoy reading books in relaxed atmosphere watching carp streamers*.
(*Carp streamer is our traditional display to celebrate children’s day (specially boy) in Japan.)
(Because of self-restraint for going out, I didn’t go to buy new books and I read my favorite books again.)

This year, we thought that there are no Golden Week, but the sunset of the last day was really GOLDEN.

We do want to share this kind of relaxed atmosphere with out guests next year.

ゴールデン・ステイホーム・ウィーク！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

楽しかったゴールデン・ウィークはあっという間に終わってしまいましたね。
あ、もといステイホーム・ウィークでした。

緊急事態宣言の上に、ここ福岡では地元サーファーが自主的に「ノー・サーフ・ウィーク」を宣言したことから、今年のゴールデン・ウィークは海にも行かずステイ・ゲストハウスで（そもそもここは宿なので）、いつもは出来ないところをお掃除などして過ごしました。

期間中、大雨の日もありましたが、こどもの日の５日、そして６日とよく晴れて、とってもよいお掃除日和となりました。

掃除後には屋根より低い鯉のぼりの横でゆっくりと読書など楽しむことができました。
外出自粛のため本屋にいくのもはばかられたので、以前読んで興味深かった本を二度読みしました。

今年はゴールデンの無いウィークかと思っていたら、最後の夕陽はやっぱりゴールデンでした。

来年のゴールデン・ウィークにはこんな時間をゲストさんたちとシェアしたいですね。

花粉対策：ゲストのためにも / Pollen measure for our guests

Pollen measure for our guests

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I mentioned about our pollen measure in the previous article.
We also take care for the guest’s pollen allergy.

When we get reservation, we couldn’t know whether the guest(s) has pollen allergy or not. But we take care for our guest with pollen allergy.

Yes, Sun drying!
In addition, we sun-dry guests’ futon in the room.
We can minimize pollens on Japanese Futon mattress.

With seeing sun-drying futon, I remembered Japanese good old days. drying Futon on the porch in traditional Japanese house.
It is very comfortable to lying down on sun-drying futon, isn’t it?

I heard that sun-drying is good for disinfecting corona-virus.

花粉対策：ゲストのためにも

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

花粉の飛散について、ここでは風向きの確認が重要だということを前回記事にしましたが、
予約の時点では花粉症かどうか区別のつかないゲストの花粉症に対しても対策を講じています。

そう、天日干しです。
それも室内で！これなら布団につく花粉も最小限に抑えられます。

昔、縁側で布団を干していた光景を思い出します。
あの布団にゴロンとするの気持ちいいんですよね。

聞くところによれば、コロナウィルスは紫外線に弱いらしいので、殺菌効果も期待できそうです。

それでは、快適な睡眠を十分にとって素敵な一日を！
