Someone else’s incident!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
On Thursday, super hot summer day all over Japan, the incident happened at a road construction site in Shizuoka pref. became the top news of Japan.
Actually I know the construction site very well, because I have always drive the road when I move between my dual living sites several times a year. And I have expected the completion of elevated road construction, as the road is always congested.
The image of the accident scene on TV is also a familiar sight for me.
The news told that two workers died in the accident.
I can’t help but feel sorry for them.
However, actually, an incident at construction site was also happened in this town this week. It could become a nationwide news.
After lunch time on Tuesday, we heard fire trucks or ambulances siren and that stopped in this neighborhood.
I wondered whether serious trouble may happened near here and look around this neighborhood.
I found out that fire trucks and ambulances surround construction site in front of the city hospital in this small town.
And I saw paramedics and firefighters walked down toward an embankment with ladders and stretchers, but after a while, they all withdrew.
I heard somebody talked that someone might be buried in the ground but if even one person was died at the incident, it can be listed in the nationwide news.
In recent Japan, not only indiscriminate murder, but also construction site critical incident have happened so often.
Where does safety quality in Japan go? Please be safe everyone!

対岸の事故！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
真夏日の木曜日、静岡で起きた道路工事の事故が全国トップニュースになりました。
実はこの道路、生活のベースである二拠点を行き来する際にいつも使っている道路で、渋滞頻発箇所だったことからこの高架化工事をとても期待していたんです。
テレビに映る事故現場画像も見覚えのある風景です。
事故で作業員が二人も亡くなったそうで、可哀想でしかたありませんが、、、
実はこの近所でもあわや全国版のニュースになるような工事現場事故が起きていたんです。
それは火曜日のお昼過ぎ、突然何台もの消防車や救急車のサイレンがけたたましく鳴り響き、近所で止みました。
どこで何があったのかと、宿の周りをぐるっと見回すと、
同じ町内にある市営病院の向かいの造成工事現場を囲むように消防車や救急車が数台並んで停まっていました。
盛り土の下に向かって梯子や担架を運ぶ隊員数名が見えて、しばらくすると隊員たちは撤収していきました。
だれか土砂に埋まったのではないかという話し声もきこえてきましたが、もし一人でも亡くなっていたら、全国版ニュースだったかもしれませんね。
最近、日本では無差別殺人だけでなく、信じられないような工事現場の事故も少なくないように思います。
