I usually share views of the sunset as seen from this guesthouse…

but this week, I decided to change things up a bit and admire the sunset from a different spot.

いつもは当宿から眺める夕陽を紹介していますが、、、

今週はちょっと場所を変えて夕陽を愛でてみました。

最近見かけなくなった、、、/ Haven’t seen them lately…

Haven’t seen them lately…

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Come to think of it, we haven’t seen them around lately.

No, no, I’m not talking about pests or anything like that.

I’m talking about the anglers on the long breakwater – a local landmark.

There used to be quite a few people out even on weekdays up until the first half of July…

I suppose a lot of the weekday anglers are elderly people, so they might try not going there, just to be on the safe side..

It must be dangerous if they start feeling dizzy while out on the breakwater under the blazing sun.

So, the sunset from here was beautiful on Wednesday, too.

(It seems our guests took the cable car up Mt. Sarakura and saw an even more beautiful sunset…)

最近見かけなくなった、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

そういえば、最近見かけなくなりました。

いえいえ害虫とかの話ではありません。

ご近所名物の長い防波堤の上の釣り人がです。

７月前半までは平日でも結構いたのに、、、

やっぱり平日釣り師にはご高齢者が多いから、大事を見ているのかも。

炎天下の堤防の上でクラっときたら危ないですからね。

というわけで、水曜日もここからの夕陽は綺麗でした。

Sometimes it’s better to be cloudy

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

One day this week it was cloudy all day.

The weather was not good enough to hang out the futon, and I was thinking how unpleasant the weather was…

However, in the evening the cloudy weather worked to our advantage and we were able to witness a beautiful sunset.

I realized that as long as I always have a positive attitude and accept things as they are and I will be able to achieve good results,

rather than jumping to conclusions like “sunny is good, rainy is bad, cloudy is not so good,”

くもっている方が良いこともある

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

一日中、ずっとくもっていた今週のとある日。

布団を干すにもイマイチで、なんか嫌な天気だなぁと思っていたら、、、

ところが、夕方になってそのくもりが功を奏して、とても美しい夕焼けに遭遇することができました。

晴れだから良い、雨だからダメ、くもりだとイマイチだとハナっから決めつけることなく、

常に前向きな気持ちで、ありのままを受け入れていると、良い結果に巡り合うんだなぁと理解しました。
