We have been wondering about this for a while now.
There are mirror fragments scattered around the side of the entrance door to our guesthouse.
We were worried that this might be some kind of harassment, but…
We checked the condition of the gutters in preparation for the rainy season and found out why there were mirror shards scattered all over the place.
What was in the gutter is
a plastic housing for car side mirrors.
In other words, someone must have gotten stuck trying to drive down this narrow, steep hill, and when backing up, their side mirror got caught on the block wall.
It would be difficult for the person to drive here.
In the past, our guest once ran his car off the road at a slightly lower curve and became stranded.
Therefore, if you are driving to our guesthouse, please park your car at a station parking lot and avoid coming up.

犯人の目星がつきました！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
少し前から気になっていたのですが、、、
当宿の入り口扉の横のあたりに鏡の破片が散らばっているんです。
もしかして何かの嫌がらせではないかと心配していましたが、、、
梅雨に向けての側溝の状態をチェックして、なんでそんなところに破片が散らばっているのかが分かりました。
溝の中にあったのは、、、
車のサイドミラーのハウジングです。
つまり、誰かがこの細くて急な坂を車で抜けようとしてスタックし、バックした際にサイドミラーをブロック塀に引っ掛けたに違いありません。
いや〜、ここを運転するのは難しいでしょう。
過去、当宿のゲストさんにも少し下のカーブで脱輪して立ち往生したことがあります。
というわけで、当宿にご用のある方が車でいらっしゃる場合は、駅の駐車場などに停めるなどして、車で登ってこないようにお願いいたします。
