Sleep well?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On Saturday morning, I was watching a ferry coming through Kanmon Strait to Shimonoseki Port.

It seems that the guests who checked in happened to be on that boat.

Many of the guests who used the ferry from winter to early spring were suffering from lack of sleep and poor physical condition.

They said it was a comfortable voyage.

As we could imagine, the quality of a boat trip is largely influenced by the season.

快適に寝れた？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

土曜の朝、関門海峡〜下関港に入港するフェリーを見ていたのですが、、、

チェックインされたゲストさんたちが、たまたまその船に乗っていたそうです。

冬から初春に同フェリーを利用されたゲストさんには、睡眠不足・体調不順になったという方が続出していましたが、、、

今は快適な船旅だったとのこと。

やはり船旅の良し悪しは季節が大きく影響するようです。

それでは、季節の特徴をしっかり把握して素敵な一日を！

We see things that shouldn’t be there.

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Weather condition has not been good this week.

Because of that, we see things that shouldn’t be in this view.

We expected to send off the guests who will go back to their home country, but unfortunately strong wind and waves made the ferry cancel for a few days.

So the ship remains at anchor in the port.(The orange light to the left of the tower is the ship.)

Two different pairs of our guests planned to board on the same ferry and we try to let them meet each other on the boat and try to find us from the ship together. So disappointing!

One pair change ship to airplane to go home, another pair decided to extend their trip and will visit more spot in different town.

We realized that the risk of boat trip.

本来あるべきでないものが見える！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

今週はずっとお天気がイマイチです。

そのせいで港の景色の中に、本来あるべきでないものが見えています。

本当なら帰国するゲストさんたちをここから見送るのですが、なんと強風波浪のため結構となってしまったようです。

というわけで船は港に停泊したまま。（タワーの左手でオレンジ色に光るライトが船です。）

それぞれ別で利用いただいた二組が同じ船に搭乗するということだったので、一緒に船から当宿を探してもらおうと思っていたのですが、、、とても残念です！

ひと組は諦めて飛行機に切り替えたようで、もうひと組はこの際旅行を延ばし別のところを巡ることにしたそうです。

船旅ってそういうリスクがあるんですね。

Look at each other unexpectedly

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

As we heard that our weekend guests used ferry boat to go back from Kitakyushu,

we had watched strait since a little before 20:00.

The ferry board passed the Kanmon strait 19:59 in front of this guesthouse. 

And my phone beeped and I saw a picture sent by the guest.

It seemed that we are look at each other unexpectedly.

In the picture, we could confirm the light from our (?) lighthouse clearly.

船よ！あれが灯火(TOUKA)の灯だ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

週末に滞在されたゲストさん、往復フェリーということだったので、、、

20:00前から海峡を眺めていました。

船は19:59に正面の海峡を通過。

すると、スマホが鳴って、ゲストさんから一枚の画像が送られてきました。

お互いに見つめ合っていたんですね。

送っていただいた画像には、しっかり当宿の(?)灯台の灯りが映っていることが確認できました。

それでは、船旅と船からの景色を楽しむ素敵な一日を！
