What’s happening in our city right now…

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Right now, our city, Kitakyushu, is completely decked out in Christmas spirit.

And that started in mid-November…

The decorations for 2025 are different from last year’s,

and events will be held continuously for 35 days, until December 25th.

Since this is such a special occasion, we would like our guests to enjoy Christmas in Kitakyushu as well.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

今、おいらの街、北九州はクリスマス一色です。

それも11月中旬から、、、

2025年のデコレーションは昨年とはまた違った趣で、

12月25日までの35日間、継続してイベントを開催するそうです。

True meaning of the words

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Recently, not a few guests have been muttering things like,

“Ah, I want to live here.”

It’s unclear whether “here” refers to this house, this town, or this city, but

they said everyone was kind, so we are guessing they were referring to our hometown, “Kitakyushu.”

Many of our guests say they love this atmosphere, and

In fact, not a few of them have become repeat guests from overseas, who have been coming back two or even three times.

What exactly attracts them?

Perhaps the key to the town’s recovery (although it has not suffered any damage from natural disasters) lies there.

真意を探る

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

最近、ボソっと呟くゲストさんが少なくありません。

「あぁ、ここに住みたい」って、、、

「ここ」が、この家を指すのか、この町を指すのか、はたまたこの市を指すのかが曖昧ですが、

みんな親切、、って言っていたので、おいらの街「北九州」を指しているんだと推測します。

ゲストさんの中にはこの雰囲気が気に入りましたとおっしゃる方は少なくないし、

実際に海外からリピーターとして二度・三度といらっしゃる方も少なくありません。

いったい何が彼らを惹きつけるのか？

その辺にこの町の復興（自然災害の被害はありませんが）のカギがあるのかもしれませんね。

時々、ざんねん！ / Sometimes disappointing!

Sometimes disappointing!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

As one person who came back (?) to this town Kitakyushu, I have been watching my hometown with from a little more objective point of view.

And I sometimes feel disappointing about this town.

For example, it is an event which held last week.

The event named “International” at the beginning of the title.

In comparison with another similar event which had been held till last year, but was held in Saga this year,

which is more “International” , you think?

時々、ざんねん！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

北九州にUターン(?)してきた一人として、より客観的にふるさとを見続けているのですが、

時折、残念に思うことがあります。

例えば、市内で先週開催されたあるイベントです。

「国際」を冠したイベントではありますが、、、

この町で昨年まで毎年開催されていて、今年から佐賀で開催されるようになったあるイベントと比べて、
