Recently there is one thing I sometimes wonder here.

It is that …

All of the guests who stayed at TOUKA are so nice, without any exceptions.

This week, one of them came down to my office and said,

“This is a small gift for you.”

What a sweet and pleasant gift it is!

I felt my body got heated suddenly.

With his permission, I put this picture to my profile of room reservation site.

Everybody so different and everyone super wonderful!

I feel that I am so lucky managing this little guest house under a little lighthouse.

Yes, I am spending quality time everyday here in Kanmon.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

最近、ふと不思議に思うことがあります。

それは、、、

当宿「灯火」を利用していただくゲストさん達が、

もれなくいい人ばかりだ、ということです。

今週、その中の一人が、夜中に私のオフィスに降りてきて、
「贈り物です。」と、これをくれました。

驚きと、感動とで、一瞬、身体が熱くなるのを感じました。

使用許可をもらって、早速、宿泊予約サイトのプロフィール画像に掲載しました。

みんな違って、すごく良い、、、

宿主冥利に尽きる毎日を、関門のちいさい宿で過ごしています。

Last week, my old friend of high school time and his family stayed in TOUKA.

His parents used to live in this neighbor, on the top of the hill.

When he saw the view of Kanmon Straits from guest room, he commented that the view reminds him the view from his old house. And view is similar but size of ship looks bigger here.

Ships looked from TOUKA are exquisite size.

絶妙なサイズ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先週、高校時代のチームメイトが家族を連れて「灯火」に泊まりに来てくれました。

実は、彼の実家は以前「灯火」の近所、坂のもっと上、この丘の頂上にあったそうです。

「灯火」から見る関門海峡の景色を前に、彼は言いました。
子供の頃に見ていた景色とそっくりだと、、、

さらに、彼の実家の方が高さもあって見晴らしは良かったけれど、ここから見る船は目の高さで、より大きく迫力があるようだと、、、

「灯火」から見る船はどうも絶妙なサイズのようです。

古代の『お・も・て・な・し』のように / Back to the Origin!

Back to the Origin!

According to the news, LCC fly everyday between Seoul to Kitakyushu, starting this week.

Since the middle of Dec, guests from Korea have increased in TOUKA.
It was the influence of the LCC starting flight into Kitakyushu last Dec.

Everyday flight from Korea makes us to expect more Korean young guests will come to TOUKA, because all guests from Korea have been so nice.

Recently I knew that there are Korean origin name of places in Moji.

Following three places are named after the ancient ships from Korean three countries landed.

*Shirakizaki was named after Shiragi-saki. (Silla 신라)

*Kuduha was named after Kudara-hama. (Baekje 백제)

and …

*Our KOMORIE was named after Koma-no Irie. (Goryeo 고려)

Now new Korean generations are coming not by the ancient ships but LCC airplanes,

TOUKA will keep welcome Korean young travelers to KOMORIE,
like ancient people in Moji welcome Korean ships in 4th century.

古代の『お・も・て・な・し』のように、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ニュースによると、今週よりLCCがソウル〜北九州間の便を毎日運行に増便するそうです。

昨年の12月に就航を開始してから、韓国からのお客様はグンと増えました。
今回の毎日運行への増便により、さらに多くの若い韓国人旅行客が増えることを期待せずにはいられません。

なぜなら、これまで利用いただいた韓国からのゲストは皆、本当に素敵な方ばかりだからです。

最近、韓国とこの地について、面白いエピソードを聞きました。

どうもココ門司には古代に入港した韓国の三国の船にちなんで名付けられた地名が三ヶ所あるようです。

その地名とは、、、

＊白木崎：
「新羅崎」が転訛してこう呼ばれるようになったそうです。
（かつての水害の時に大被害があった場所です。）

＊葛葉：
「百済浜（くだらはま）」が転訛したそうです。
（今門司で百済といえば高級焼肉屋で、まだ名前は転訛されてません。）

＊なんと、我らが 小森江：
ココは「高麗の入江（こまのいりえ）」が転訛したようです。

２１世紀の今、古代の船ではなく、LCCの飛行機に乗って多くの韓国の若い世代がやってきています。

かつて古代の門司に住んでいた人達がそうしたように、「灯火」はここ「小森江」にやってくる韓国の若者たちを暖かく迎えてゆくつもりです。
