By the way, what happened with the discussion about border virus control in U.S. military bases in Japan?

Two epicenters of the sixth wave of pandemic in Japan were Okinawa and Yamaguchi (Iwakuni), and both of them are in lifted groups now. Most of people, specially government, don’t want to talk about the essential discussion.

As a host of guesthouse, I personal concern about this more than Ukraine situation.  Similar case will be happen in future.

I personally prefer to listen their military radio when I drive through east of Yamaguchi. But I don’t need virus definitely.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。

まん延防止等重点措置の解除・延長に関わらず、ここでは両地域間の行き来はとても活発ですが、、、

そういえば、米軍基地での水際対策についての議論って、いったいどうなったんでしょうね？

第六波の二つの震源地は両県ともに解除となってしまいましたが、この議論についてはみんな、特に政府は口にしたがりませんね。

個人的には、ウクライナ情勢より関心があります。きっとまた同じことが繰り返されますよ。

Fear across the sea!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Since this new year, the other side of the sea has been in trouble.

This is not about international problems.

This is about domestic situation of COVID-19 infection.

Whenever I drive through the area on the way to/from Tokyo, I’ve been envied that area receiving ability of radio AFN, but

such risk of infection was way beyond my imagination level.

We thought that it was the fire on the opposite shore, but now this side Fukuoka also is in similar situation, the accelerating spread of the infection.
(It is natural affection, because more than 30% of cars running on two national roads under this guesthouse have Yamaguchi’s license plate.)

Now we cannot be too careful at anywhere in this country.

“I might have been infected already”

With having such consciousness, we should beware of infection for the precious someone.

海の向こうの恐怖！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

今年に入って、海の向こうがヤバいことになってます！

国際問題のことではありません。

新型コロナの国内感染状況です。

毎度東京との行き来の際に、この区間だけは米軍放送がラジオで聞けるので羨ましく思っていましたが、、、

こんなリスクが潜んでいたとは想像の域を超えていました。

海の向こうの話、対岸の火事だと思っていたら、今ではここ福岡県でも感染急拡大！

（灯火の下の国道では走っている車の三割がた対岸エリアのナンバーなので当然ですね。）

今や日本国中で、いくら注意してもしすぎることはない状況です。

もしかしたら、もう自分も感染してるかも、、、

そのぐらいの意識をもって、大切な人のために感染対策する必要があるのかもしれません。

Let’s be careful

A Happy New Year again to the World and Kanmon!

The first day 2022 of this Kanmon area was very calm whole day.

The first thing in the morning, we went to a beach to watch the first sunrise.

And the sun came up in the sky and the sunshine stopped recent cold weather.

After came back to this guesthouse, we prepared New Year’s decoration on this building.

However, after the sunset, we looked at the other side of the strait, we found some thing different and heard sirens from a distance.

I checked through the internet and it seemed be a big fire there.

気をつけよう

世界中に新年が、そして関門にも2022年がやって来ました。
あらてめまして、おめでとうございます。

ここ関門エリアの元旦は終日穏やかでした。

朝一番の初日の出*がそのまま空に昇り、
（ *初日の出、今年は気分を変えて海岸から望みました。）

陽の光のおかげで寒さの緩む一日となりました。

そんな光を浴びながら、今年一年穏やかに過ごしたいと考えながら、正月のお飾りを出したりしました。

ところが、夜になって窓の外を見ると、いつものきらめく夜景のなかに、違和感ある光景を発見。遠いサイレンの音も聞こえてきました。

調べてみると、どうも結構大きな火事だったようです。

それでは、どうぞ災害を起こさない・巻き込まれない素敵な一年を！
