Caution: it is unusual this year!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I have been writing about Autumn red leaves in Japan, also in this area.
But honestly speaking, condition of Autumn leaves may be unusual this year 2018.
It is because of big typhoons. We got so many typhoon strikes this summer in Japan, such as typhoon “Trami” and others. They create salt damages all over Japan. Sea salt was blowed by strong wind and splayed on the leaves. Those leaves fall off earlier than normal Autumn.
Kanmon area is not an exception to this situation. Leaves are falling off in various spots including my favorite spot.
We want to advice all foreign tourists, who planning to visit Japan to enjoy Autumn view with red maple leaves, to check the condition in advance.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
日本の紅葉、関門エリアの紅葉について情報をあげてきましたが、、、
状況を正直にお伝えすると、今年の日本の紅葉・黄葉は少し異常かもしれません。
というのも、今年の日本の夏は、台風の当たり年で、台風24号などいくつもの台風が日本全国に塩害を引き起こしたからです。風にまき上げられた海水の塩分にあたった木の葉は変色を起こし、紅葉の季節を待たずにして散ってしまったところが少なくないようです。
関門エリアもその例にもれず、お気に入りの場所を含め、葉が散ってしまったスポットも少なくないようです。
紅葉目当てで、日本を観光しようと計画されている皆さんには、是非紅葉の状況を事前確認された上で、こんな状況でもキレイな日本の秋を満喫してもらいたいものです。
