The event which gather biggest attention!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We have introduced unique events in this town. This is one of the most unique event.

Young people are excited very much at this event in the different way which local government wants them to celebrate. However, the behavior of young people has gathered big attention of major mass media in Japan every year.

The event is “Coming of Age Ceremony”.
That of Kitakyushu are completely different from any other area in Japan.

Some people criticize young people’s fever toward the ceremony but I personally this fever is good excitement for them. They are quite polite young people and they haven’t made critical trouble but minor quarrels. This is one of a few important event in which they can empress themselves to public. (Nowadays, there is few chance for young people
to expose themselves.)

It is the event, once a year in this town, and once in their life time for the young people who is 20 years old in the year. We want our guests to see this event to know Japanese young generation. (Such as carnival in Rio de JaneiroRio.)

世の中が注目するイベント！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この街ならではの新年のイベントを紹介していますが、このイベントの注目度は格別です。

そのイベントとは「成人式」です。
北九州のそれは、日本の他の地域では類を見ないスタイルです。

地方自治体が狙っているものとは違う方向で盛り上がっていますが、日本のメジャーなマスコミの関心はこの街で開催される他のどのイベントよりも高いです。

若者たちの過度な盛り上がりを避難する声も少なくありませんが、自分はとても良いことだと思います。多少のいざこざはあっても、大きな反社会的な問題も起きないし、なによりも若者が自分自身を主張できる貴重な機会だと思います。（現代の日本ではなかなか若者にそういう機会が与えられていません。）

一年に一度のイベント、彼らにとっては一世一代の晴れ舞台。是非、海外からいらっしゃった皆さんにも見てもらいたいです。（リオのカーニバルみたいに、、、）
