Here come the downpour!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are still having unstable weather here in Kanmon area.

If we change our point of view a little, it can be interesting to look out over that weather.

As of Thursday, we no longer had long heavy rain but we still had sudden downpour intermittently.

But when we looked out over the rain curtain, it could be mystical very much.

ゲリラ豪雨がやって来る ザァ!ザァ!ザァ!

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

まだまだ不安定な天気の続くここ関門エリア。

ある意味居直って、そのお天気を見学してみるのも楽しかったりします。

木曜日、長雨はなくなりましたが、突然どっと降ってはすぐに止む土砂降りが時折やってきます。

ここから見ているとその雨のカーテンが迫ってくるのがなんとも幻想的だったりします。

空は広いな、、、/ As we have broad sky

As we have broad sky

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On Tuesday, their last day of stay, they checked out with no rain, because they are the lucky guests who always stop the rain.

After we send them out, we looked up the sky and found the Mt. Sarakura peeking out from above the clouds which they had abandoned to visit this time but declared to go next time.

We do want them to visit the Mt. Sarakura, which is the highest mountain of this area, during their next stay.

Then, as the sun rises, the clouds over foot of mountain will disappeared and weather became fine rest of the morning.

So we cleaned up around the entrance of this guesthouse,

and we found the sunshine was so bright.

When we looked up the sky

and we see round rainbow around the sun.

Based on our research, it is called as “solar halo”, which is not the sign of good luck.

Actually it is the sign of weather downhill.

Honestly we expect the end of TSUYU (= Japanese rainy season) but it will not end so far.

空は広いな、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

晴れ男・晴れ女ならぬ「晴れゲスト」のおかげで、滞在最終日の火曜日も雨にあうことなくチェックアウトされていきました。

見送った後の景色を見ると、雲の上から皿倉山。ゲストが今回は登頂を諦め、次回にすると言っていた山です。

雲の上から顔を出すなんて、やっぱりこのエリア最高峰！是非次回登ってもらいたいですね。

さて、日が登るにつれて皿倉山山麓の雲も消え、良い天気になってきました。

このお日様を活用しない手はないと玄関まわりを掃除していると、、、

陽の光がなんかとっても眩しいんです。

空を見上げるとそこには、、、

まあるい虹が！

調べるとこれ「ハロ」と呼ぶらしく、幸運のサインではなくて、

実は「天気下り坂のサイン」だそうです。

実は密かに「梅雨明け」期待したのですが、まだまだのようですね。

Sittin’ on the chair in guest room, watching the rain clouds goes away

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In this week, we have admired that our repeat guests, who love Kitakyushu very much, got the point to stay here and trip around this area.

We have often got heavy rain emergency warning and we kept having pretty heavy rain frequently.

But the guests have never gone out sightseeing early morning everyday,

enjoyed relaxing time in FUTON hearing sound of rain drops hit the leaves,

and went out without using umbrella after checking/watching it from the guest room that rain clouds moved away to north-east.

They have really understand the merit of this guesthouse 120%.

It seemed that we had petit linear rain belt around Kanmon area before dawn and we heard sound of heavy rain falling. So we sincerely hope that no serious damage has been done around this neighborhood.

お部屋のイスに座って

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

外国人観光客とはいっても、リピーターで、北九州大好きゲストさんともなると全く要領を得たものだと感心します。

豪雨の緊急警報でスマホも唸る今週、比較的朝夕に激しい雨が降ることが多いのですが、

滞在中は毎日、あわてて観光に出かけることもなく、

雨の音を聞きながら布団の中でリラックスした後、

お部屋から雲の動きを眺めながら、雨雲が北東方面に流れ去るのを見届けてから、傘なしで出かけて行かれました。

この宿のメリットを120％活かした滞在だと感心しました。

ここ関門エリアは今朝も未明まで、プチ線状降水帯みたいになっていたようで雨が強く降っていて、近隣で深刻な被害が起きてないことを願ってやみません。
