Fire of Fortune – limited time recommended Souvenir
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
As the place I went last weekend was so conscious about Japanese tradition and culture, I introduce for the reference of our future guest.
It was posted already about our custom “DONDO-YAKI” which is being held every area (except Tokyo) in Japan during Jan.7-15. The place, DONDO-YAKI held are big shrine, community hall, school ground and so on. The neighbors bring house decorations and amulets, and they are burned by Shinto priest after their praying.
Because of low birthrate and longevity, the collapse of the regional autonomy, many places have abandoned to held DONDO-YAKI, but here, way to do DONDO-YAKI was quite same as my childhood days. I felt that their DONDO-YAKI is very authentic and beautiful. I am posting this article.

(I could not see the whole process, but I heard that it takes several hours to burn them all.)
There are many kids attending the event, and they enjoyed it very much.
This shrine is selling unique Shogatsu fortune goods, which is small size Kite. I think it is cooler for souvenir than allows charms and amulets. So I recommended to our guests from foreign countries. It is sold in limited period Shogatsu in Japan.
(It is flat shape and we can pack at the bottom of suitcase.)
Price, 500JPY, is also reasonable.
Let us making wish to this kite and make effort imagining this kite flying in air. Our wish/dream may come true.

昇運の炎 〜 期間限定 オススメのお土産
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
先の週末に行ったところが、日本の文化・風習を丁寧に継承していたので、未来のゲストの参考になればと紹介します。
すでに別の記事でも紹介しましたが、1月7日〜15日ぐらいまでの間、（東京を除く？）日本各地で「どんど焼き」が開催されています。大きな神社から、公民館、学校の校庭まで様々な場所で行われ、その近所の住民が正月明け、不要になったお飾りや御札を持って集まり、お祈りの後、燃やされます。
少子高齢化や 地域自治が崩壊したりで、東京のように「どんど焼き」自体が開催されないごころも多いなか、こちらでは、自分が昔子供の頃に経験した次第が忠実に継承されていて、その姿をとても美しく感じたので記事に取り上げてみました。
・お餅つき
・ぜんざい
・お飾りの櫓
・神主さんによる祈祷
・お焚き昇げ
・餅焼き
（最後までは見れませんでしたが、お飾りは結構時間をかけてしっかりと焼かれるみたいです。）
集まった人の中には、意外と子供も多く、古き良き日本の伝統・風習を見せてもらえました。
またこちらの神社では、御札等とは別に開運の「凧飾り」を販売しています。破魔矢や御札とは一味違う洒落た にっぽんの招福飾りとして、ガイジン旅行者にも紹介したいお土産です。（実物は平たいので、スーツケースの底に入れれば、かさばることなく持って帰れます。）
500円という価格もリーズナブルですよね。
願いごとをこの凧飾りに込めて、空高くあげがるように日々努力することで、実現に近づけることが出来るかもしれません。
