Avoiding denseness: Learn from developed countries – Safe exercise
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Since this autumn, COVID-19 infection has accelerated all over the world. specially in western countries.
I heard from the young guy I met who was working at surf shop in Portugal that an interesting phenomenon had been happening in such Europe countries during the first wave of pandemic.
In that period, French and Spanish rich people had escaped from their countries to beach in Portugal to avoid close contact with other people and to enjoy open atmosphere.
They decide to try the most safe exercise of all they could think of. First of all, they went the surf shop and bought several boards without knowing how to use, and they went toward the beach.
As of now, the timing we know that droplet infection is the most risky and possible. we think their action was a kind of correct behavior.

It doesn’t work if they went to the beaches like Shonan and Bousou, where are easy to access from big cities*, because beaches are so crowded even in the water. However, like beaches in Portugal, there are such a few people, even in the day with nice waves.
Local beaches has much less people than the number of good waves. It is the big loss of opportunity that you don’t try surf here.
It is already in winter according to the calendar. So wind and water are chill now but it may be good timing to think of challenge it for spring, in case the pandemic won’t be finished.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
秋になって以来、感染が猛威を増し、世界中でとんでもないことになっていますね。特に欧米で！
そんな欧州で第一波の中、面白い現象が起こっていたことを、春先までポルトガルのサーフショップで働いていた青年に聞きました。
当時、フランスやスペインの富裕層は、密を避けると同時に開放的な環境を求めて、ポルトガルの海岸まで南下してきたそうです。
そして、考えられる一番安全な方法でエクササイズしようと、サーフボードを何本も購入して、扱い方も分からないままビーチに消えていったそうです。
飛沫感染がもっともリスクが高いと分かってきた現在、彼らの行動は正しかったように思います。

たとえば日本の場合、湘南や房総半島のような大都市からアクセスのよいビーチはたとえ海でも混雑しているようですが、ボルトガルのビーチ同様、中規模都市、ここ北九州近辺では良い波がある日でもこんなもんです。
人よりも良い波の数の方がはるかに多い地方、そんな波を試さずに通り過ぎるのはもったいな過ぎます。
暦の上では冬、風や海水は随分冷たくなりましたが、感染が収束しなかった場合の春に備えて計画しておくのは悪くないかもしれませんね。
