Maiden Voyage!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The name “KITAKAMI”.

This name reminds me one big island locating in the north of Japan.

I forgot how many times I have used “KITAKAMI” to transport myself to the great nature land. With my partner, iron horse.

Now, such “KITAKAMI” is moving smoothly outside of this window.
It is not like that I have known for long time, but it looks like bride in perfect white dress. It seems that she is walking slowly on the virgin road, called Kanmon strait.

This new “KITAKAMI” will take place with old “KITAKAMI” within two months.
It seems that they are inspecting the performance of new “KITAKAMI” on the Genkainada Sea.

The name “KITAKAMI” is new, but same time nostalgic for me.
I want to use this new “KITAKAMI” to visit the north land again someday.

処女航海！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

平仮名で「きたかみ」、、、

この名を聞くと、自分は北の大地を思い出します。

北の大自然を満喫するために、何度この「きたかみ」のお世話になったでしょう？
20年来の相棒、鉄の馬と一緒に、、、

そんな「きたかみ」が窓の外を滑るように進んでいきます。
その姿は自分の知っているそれとは違って、純白の花嫁のようです。
まるで関門海峡というヴァージンロードを歩いているみたいです。

まもなくこの美しい新艇が、自分のよく知る「きたかみ」と交代します。
今、まさに玄界灘で試験航行を繰り返しているようです。

新しくも懐かしくもあるこの「きたかみ」、、、
そのうちにまたお世話になって北の大地に渡りたいものです。

それでは、すでに時折雪も降っているらしい北の国を想う素敵な一日を！

All we need is Sense of Foresight!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I got a message from guest who supposed to enjoy sightseeing.
“Yassan, I am in trouble. What does this mean?”

I can see sign board in the picture he sent to me.
The Japanese words “Staff Only Parking” is on the board.

He seemed to park his car there and his rent-a-car was locked in the parking lot by the staff. It is because sign board was written by only Japanese. But biggest reason is that someone wrote review of the place on interest as “Free Parking Lot”. Review was on Google Map. We know that there is no free parking lot in this port town, where is famous for expensive parking fee, and we feel worry by this fake review about our town on internet.

Anyway, I drove to this place, led him to real free parking and sent him to sightseeing again. Same time, I noticed that his rent-a-car didn’t came from Kitakyushu airport.

He flew in Yamaguchi-Ube airport, got rent-a-car there and drove several sightseeing spot in Yamaguchi pref (Shuhoudou cave, Hagi town, Motonosumiinari shrine and Tsunoshima bridge). Yamaguchi already made driving map written in Hangul last year.

On the contrary, how is our town?
According to officer of this city, they are just preparing/releasing gourmet restaurant and shopping map by several languages (at the same time rent-a-car companies are expanding their facilities in/around airport).

All we may need is not subsidy for coupon and refund, but the leadership with timely sense of foresight for inbound tourists strategy and measure against aging society.

P.S. We will applause to the idea, such as driving map with free parking information (by coupon) just for foreign drivers. I will show the reason later someday.

必要なのは、先を読むセンス！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

外出したゲストから画像つきメールが送られてきました。
「ヤバい！やっさん。これなんて書いてるの？」

そこに書かれていたのは「関係車両以外 駐車禁止」！

つまり彼はそこに借りていた車を停めてしまったようで、その施設にゲートを閉じられてしまったのです。注意書きが日本語だけで書かれているのも原因ですが、一番の原因はネット上でその場所が「無料駐車場」だと書き込まれていたことです。それもGoogleマップ上に！ 駐車場が高いことで有名な港町で、駅前に「無料駐車場」なんてあるわけがなく、我が町に書き込まれるフェイクレビューに不安を感じます。

さて、その彼を真の「無料駐車場」まで誘導し、観光に送り出して気が付きました。彼の車が地元空港からの借り出しでないことに！

彼はお隣の山口の空港を利用し、そこからレンタカーを乗り出し、山口自慢の観光地（秋芳洞、萩、元乃隅稲荷神社、そして角島）を回ったそうです。山口ではすでにこうした状況を見越して、昨年韓国語のドライブマップを作っています。

対して、わが町はどうでしょう。役所に聞くと、現在一生懸命に多言語対応の食べ歩きマップを作成しているところです。（空港ではレンタカー各社が規模拡大しているタイミングで）

もしかして、今、我が故郷に必要なのは、バラ撒きのための助成金ではなくて、先の読めるセンスのいいリーダーなのかもしれません。海外旅行客対応も、少子高齢化対策も、、、

P.S. 海外ドライバー専用の無料駐車場（クーポン配布）マップとか、アイデアが出ると拍手喝采なのにね。その理由はまた別の機会に。

It is fun only to watch the race!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It was quite fun even only to watch the marathon race on last Sunday.

What I saw were:

kaikyomarathon13Japanese comedian running with saying “Meow” like cat,

kaikyomarathon14Silver medalist of Rio Paralympic game,

kaikyomarathon15and big white sailing boat cruising the strait.

I could enjoyed various view during the marathon race of the other side of strait.

So, now I am looking forward to watching Kitakyushu Marathon in Feb. 2019.

見ているだけでも意外と楽しい！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日曜日のマラソン観戦、、、ボーッと見ているだけでもなかなか楽しかったです。

kaikyomarathon13「にゃ〜」と鳴き声を発しながら走るコメディアン。

kaikyomarathon14リオパラリンピックのシルバーメダリスト。

kaikyomarathon15そして、偶然にもランナーのバック、海峡を滑っていく帆船。

色々な景色が楽しめた対岸のマラソン大会でした。

来年２月の北九州マラソン観戦が楽しみになってきました。
