Past and Present of this Port Town

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

When I step back a little bit from the wall of art which I mentioned on the last article, I can see a bitt (short pole to moor ship), but quay is way far from the bitt.

Yes, here used be the shoreline of few decades ago.

This port became wider by reclaiming. In my high school days, this is the shore line but it moved far away. So I recognized that I am getting old by seeing the difference between old and current shoreline.

I did realize how many years have passed since I graduated from high school.

Thank you and you have a nice day for both generations before and after reclaiming of Mojiko port.

港町、、、今昔

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

アートな倉庫の壁から、すこし視線をひくと、、、

そこにはビット（船を岸壁に係留する時にロープを巻きつけるフック）が。でも岸壁はずっと向こうです。

そうです。ココが昔の海岸線！

埋め立てにより港が広がったのです。つまり自分が学生だった頃にはココが海だったというわけで、これじゃあ歳もとるよなぁとあらためて自覚させられます。

それでは、埋め立て前世代も埋め立て後世代もどちらも素敵な一日を！

Port town fine Art can be available for your Instagram!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

“Matsunaga Bunko”, which is exhibiting posters and equipments of movie series “It is tough to be a man”, is locating in the renovated space of historic warehouse in this port town.

This is just between you and me, there is an artistic block around this warehouse.

This wall art was produced by Mr.Takashi Matsuura* and staffs of “Mojiko Art Research Center”.
(*Mr. Matsuura is a director of the center. His atelier locates a little far from the port and we sometime visit there and get healed by his art works which has gentle, quiet but brilliant atmosphere like this wall art. Because we tend to be depressed in this town, becoming desolate day by day.)

However this wall art is positioning a little far from major flow line of sightseeing and only a few tourists can noticed this and others are going away without seeing this. I found out it after watching people/tourists for a while.

We do recommend all tourists who travel Mojiko to stop by this spot and take a selfie in front of this wall art. We bet you can feel comfortable at this spot.

アートに、、、映える？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

前記事で紹介した「男はつらいよ 映画資料展」を開催中の「松永文庫」。歴史的に価値のある港湾倉庫をリノベした建物の一角にあります。

実はこの倉庫に沿って、とってもアートな区画があるんです。

この素敵な壁画を制作したのは、この港町にあって積極的に芸術活動を展開されているアーティストの松浦孝*氏と門司港美術工芸研究所のメンバー。
（*松浦氏は同所所長。港町から少し離れたところにある松浦氏のアトリエには時折お邪魔して、こちらの絵にもみられる優しくて静かながらも華やかな作品に、寂れていくだけの港町で落ち込みがちな心と目の保養をさせていただいたりしています。）

ところがこの壁画、観光スポットでもある「関門海峡ミュージアム」や「松永文庫」のすぐそばにありながら、観光動線からほんの少しだけ逸れているために、見ているとほとんどの観光客はこの絵の存在に気付かずに駅方面に戻ってしまうようです。

港町散策の際はこちらのウォールアートの前で自撮り撮影などいかがでしょう？
ほっこり気分になれること間違いなしです。

ザ・昭和の男＠港町 / The Mr. SHOWA is coming to this port town

The Mr. SHOWA is coming to this port town.

A exhibition of his movies are being displayed in the public exhibit space near the pier. Posters and related items of All his movie series “Tora-san” are exhibited there.

We heard brand new movie of “Tora-san” will be released in this month, in spite of the main actor was already dead.

It seems that they made new movie by editing archived moving pictures of his past record. Many fun of “Tora-san” must be excited to watch it. Lately new story (like episode zero) about his childhood for TV drama was broadcasted by NHK. And it got good reputation. So it might be best timing to go this exhibition hall to watch the history of “Tora-san” series.

How about make yourself put into SHOWA era by watching them.

P.S. When I traveled to Hong Kong a few years ago, I saw copied character of “Tora-san” in local comedy program.

Now his style seems to be international brand. By the way his series #37 was filmed in this port town and other Fukuoka locations.

ザ・昭和の男＠港町

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この港町にあの昭和の男がやってきました。

今、波止場近くの公共展示スペースで昭和の男、寅さん映画の資料展示がおこなわれています。なんと過去全作品のポスター他資料が展示されているようです。

寅さんといえば、最新作が今月封切られるそうですね。

最近NHKで制作されたエピソード・ゼロというか、寅さんの子供時代を舞台にしたドラマも好評だったようで、このタイミングでこちらの展示を見て、昭和の年越しムードに浸ってみてはいかがでしょう？

それでは、どこか昭和な懐かしくて素敵な一日を！

P.S. 海外旅行の際、香港でテレビを付けると寅さんのキャラクターをコピーしたコメディドラマが放映されてました。

今や寅さんスタイルはグローバル・ブランドなのかもしれません。もひとつ、ちなみにシリーズ「男はつらいよ」の関門海峡・筑豊を舞台にしたストーリーは第37話です。
