Will it be destroyed too!?

Those in the know, know that the landmark of TOUKA is the lighthouse.

I saw a TV program which reported about Lighthouse. According to them, many lighthouses in Japan are broken every year. It is because people is using high accuracy GPS and Electric Navigating Equipments.

A lighthouse was broken in the program and it was built close year as our lighthouse. So we worried about the risk our lighthouse will be broken. However it seems that our lighthouse is OK, as Kanmon strait is very important route and very difficult path for ocean traffics.

Another topic in that TV program was “TODAI-JOSHI (lighthouse girls)”. It means group of girls who are enthusiasts of Lighthouses. They see lighthouses as tough and reliable partner who is the ideal for them.

They hold meeting and tour named “TODAI-JOSHIKAI” constantly.

We want them to hold “TODAI-JOSHIKAI” at here TOUKA someday.
Because it is very relaxing to look up our lighthouse, lying on the TATAMI mat in our guest room. In the night, the mellow light from the lighthouse will heal them.

In addition to above, it is quite exciting to watch big ships coming toward our lighthouse.

ウチのも危ない？ ドンドン壊されてるぅ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

知っている人は知っている。
「灯火」のランドマークは「灯台」。

テレビでやってました。
日本国中で年々けっこうな数の灯台が取り壊されているらしいです。

GPSや航海用計器の精度アップにより、灯台の利用価値が低くなっていることが一番の理由だそうです。

番組の中で壊された灯台と同じ頃に建てられたウチの灯台は大丈夫？って心配になりましたが、どうも関門海峡は大丈夫そうです。だって「海上交通の要所・難所」ですから。

同時にその番組で話題になっていたのが「灯台女子」！
灯台に萌える女性たちのことらしいです。
悪天候でも常にじっと働く灯台に、たくましく、いつも温かく見守ってくれる理想の男性像をみるようです。

「灯台女子会」なる会合もあるらしいです。

是非、当宿「灯火」でも「灯台女子会」やってほしいですね。
畳の上に大の字に寝転がって見る灯台、そして夜は布団の中でその灯りを見ながら眠りにつく、心から癒やされるはずです。

また、大型船が全てこの灯台に向かってくるのを正面から見るのも壮観です。

Kitakyushu the Runner’s City!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Next month, we will have a winter big event here in this town.

Yes, it is Marathon Race.
TOUKA will support guests and their supporters who will attend the Event, utilizing our location.

At first, TOUKA locates at very convenient place for both runners and their supporters.

For runner, both starting point and goal point are easy access with using JR train. Walking time is about 15min for “TOUKA to Station” and “Station to both point”.

For supporter. it is easy to go to the course with 5min walk from here. So TOUKA is convenient base camp for marathon family.

If you really want to support runner, you can make perfect support as follows with utilizing JR train.

(1) To go start point with runner and cheer him/her.
*Move back to Komorie by JR train.

(1’) To walk down to marathon course after taking rest here.

support11*Communicate with local people at supporter station and cheer together

(2) To cheer runner at 27km point.

*Move to Mojiko by JR train.

(3) To cheer runner at tuning point near boat pier.

(4) To cheer runner at 36km point.

(5) Welcome runner at goal point!

For solo runner, we will cheer you at (2) 27km point & (4) 36km point and taking your running picture*.
(*We cannot guarantee 100% quality photo, because of other runners around you.)

At the marathon of last year, our guest could finish the marathon with faster time than her targeted time. We all excited about that.

ザ・ランナーズ・シティ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

あともうひと月もすると、我が町では冬の一大イベントが開催されます。

そう、北九州マラソンです。

当宿「灯火」はランナー応援の宿！ ゲストとして泊まっていただくだけでなく、地の利を活かして大会に参加されるランナーと応援する人（家族？友達？）とを120％支援します。

まずはロケーション。「灯火」のある小森江は、走る方にも応援する方にもとても便利なところです。

ランナーには、スタート＆ゴール地点へはJRの電車でアクセス出来て、「宿から駅」＆「駅からどちらの地点」を合わせても徒歩15分ほど。

応援するのも、フォトジェニックなコース沿いのポイントまで歩いて5分なので、マラソン・ファミリーのベースキャンプとして最適です。

本格的に応援・撮影したい方には、前夜・当日と連泊でご利用いただければ、このようにJRを利用して効率的で楽しい応援ができると思います。

(1) ランナーと一緒にスタート地点に行って応援。
*JRで小森江へ移動。

(1’) 宿に戻って休憩後（笑）、徒歩5分でマラソンコースへ

(2) 27kmで応援。

(3) 門司港、渡船乗り場前の折り返し地点で応援

お一人でいらっしゃるランナー・ゲストさんは、チェックインの際にゼッケン番号を教えていただければ 、(2) 27km地点 と(4) 36km地点で「灯火」スタッフによる応援＋撮影*。
（*ランナー同士が重なったりするため、写真映りは保証できませんけれど。）

作年のレースでは、応援したゲストさんが目標タイムより大幅に良い記録でゴールされたので、とても盛り上がりました。

応援を通して「灯火」スタッフも地元の一大イベント「北九州マラソン」を思いっきり楽しむ予定です。

The Japanese Soul, Made in China!

A Happy New Year to the World and Kanmon!

When this article will be posted, we are on the top of backyard mountain, waiting for the 2018 first sun rising.

We pray to the sun for our guests’ safe trip and comfortable stay, who will come to stay this year, hopefully under fine sky.

We already finished displaying TOUKA with New Year decorations. We will enjoy OTOSO (= Japanese spiced sake of New Year) with our guest next.

At the store, we had wondered which is best new year decoration for TOUKA.

Finally we chose a decoration named “Soul of Japan”.

The reason why we chose it was the gap between the name and country of origin. It is quite similar as Japan in these days.

(The Japanese Soul, Made in China: To patrol the south boarder on the sea against China, Japan decided to strengthen our coast guard. On the other hand, the sources of water in Hokkaido were bought by Chinese people. Japan is too weak to protect our land from the inside. Even the real estate market of TOKYO got influenced by Chinese money. I surely competed with several Chinese to get best place to open a guesthouse in Tokyo. The Chinese people said that time that they are going to sell their real estate in Japan for the money before Olympic game. So we afraid if they will sell them all and the market got damaged seriously. We wondered if the timing will come in 2018.)

After displaying “Soul of Japan” at our entrance yesterday, we thanked our god for safe operation of TOUKA, watching the last sunset of 2017.

And this morning, we pray the sunrise for safe trips of our future guests who will visit here in this year 2018.

にっぽんのこころ メイドイン チャイナ！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にも新年が来ました。
あけましておめでとうございます。

この記事がアップされる頃は裏山の頂上で、振る舞われる「ぜんざい」を片手に初日の出を待っている頃だと思います。

今年これから訪れるゲストのみなさんの安全な旅、快適な滞在を祈願する初日の出参り。晴天のもとでお参りができればと心より願っています。

「灯火」では正月の飾りも終わり、あとはゲストさん達とお屠蘇を飲むばかりの状態です。

その「正月飾り」、たくさんあるなかから結構悩んで選びました。

悩んだ結果、「日本の心（高陽）」という名の付いたお飾りに決定！

選んだ理由は、そのタイトルと原産地国とのギャップに、昨今の「日本の心」を見たからです。

（中国製の「日本の心」！： 尖閣諸島防備のため、海上保安庁を増強すると宣言しながら、その反面、北海道の水源地を中国に買い占められたりと、脇が甘い今のこの国そのものだと思い、この「日本の心」に即決です。実は東京の不動産市場でも中国マネーが動いていて、東京での出店を検討していた頃には中国人と物件を競うことが多く、「日本の土地」に対する危機感を肌で感じたことも記憶に新しいです。彼らはオリンピックを前に「売り抜ける」ことが目的だとハッキリ言っていたので、今年2018年あたりがそろそろそんなタイミングではないかと危惧します。中国製の日本の心が「高陽」し続けることを期待したいものです。）

昨日は宿の玄関にそんな「日本の心」を飾り終えて、昨年最後の夕陽を見送りながら、大きなトラブルや事故もなく終えることが出来た2017年を感謝しました。

そして今朝は（初日の出に）これからいらっしゃるゲストの皆さんの旅の無事・安全を祈願します。

それでは、どうぞ人生という名の旅を無事に、安全に！
