Singer change

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

During August, as dawn breaks every morning, large cicadas started crying loudly like alarm clock for our guests. But we cannot hear them any more.

In place of them, small cicadas which are called as walker cicada started to make mild sound around this guesthouse TOUKA.

We had strong sunlight on Monday and we felt very hot in sunshine in daytime, but season is shifting to Autumn a little bit.

歌い手交代

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

８月中は毎朝明るくなると、まるでゲストさん専用の目覚まし時計のようにけたたましく鳴いていたアブラゼミやクマゼミの声が聞こえなくなり、

代わって、秋を告げる蝉、ツクツクボウシがいい感じに鳴くようになってきた当宿「灯火」周辺です。

月曜はまだまだ日差しが強くて昼間はジリジリ暑い感じでしたが、やっぱり季節は秋にシフトしているんですね。

Clear weather after a typhoon has passed

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We had very strong wind created by typhoon Khanun Wednesdays night in Kanmon area.

The next day Thursday, we could confirmed that there is no damage on this guesthouse and it made us feel easy after all.

However, temperature went up over 30 degree C again immediately.

We had hot strait summer back again.

台風一過

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

水曜の夜、台風６号の影響で関門エリアはすごい風でしたが、、、

明けて木曜日、当宿には特に被害もないことが確認できて、ホッとしました。

かすかな避暑 / A little summer resort

A little summer resort

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We mentioned about more than 1,000m vertical evacuation from the heat.

The area around this guesthouse seems to be 2 – 3 degrees cooler than other area, specially inland and urban areas.

It may be because here is on the slope land where sea wind is always blowing and close to the strait with strong current which replace the water and keep the water temperature a little cooler.

Furthermore, fewer exhaust from cars and outdoor units of air-conditioners due to the small number of residents and the environment with more greens may prevent from temperature rising.

How about enjoy relaxing time on such hill, watching ships moving through the strait?

かすかな避暑

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

先の記事で1,000mクラスの垂直避暑を話題にしましたが、、、

この宿の周辺エリアでも、特に内陸や市街地に比べると気温は2,3度低いことが多いようです。

それはこの地が海風を受ける斜面であることと、潮の干満で潮の流れが早く海峡の水が入れ替わることで水温が比較的低いこと、そんな海辺の町だからかもしれません。

さらに住む人の数が少ないことからの室外機の影響が少ないこと、緑の多い環境もまた気温の上昇を抑えているように思います。

そんな高台の宿で海峡を行き来する船でも眺めながらのんびり過ごしてみませんか？
