Rain cats and dogs
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Heavy rain with thunder began early on Tuesday.
Water was gushing out from the neighbor’s rain gutter and iIt was raining so hard that I could no longer see the town on the other side and this neighborhood just below.
It seems that mud and sand washed into the road near my friend’s cafe, and although my friend seemed to be safe, it made me think about the risks of heavy rain in this area.

Fortunately, the guests at our inn seemed to be able to sleep well, and the inn seems to be able to weather this heavy rain without any damage.

P.S. Come to think of it, I felt once again how lucky I was to travel from Tokyo to here, Kanmon, last week, with almost no rain at all, and only a drizzle during my trip’s very last night’s rest on the opposite side of the strait.

どしゃ降り
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
火曜日は未明から雷をともなう大雨。
お隣の雨どいからは水が吹き出し、対岸どころかすぐ下の町並みも見えなくなりそうな勢いで雨が降っていました。
知り合いのカフェのそばの道路に土砂が流れ込んだようで、知り合いは無事だったようですが、この地の大雨に対するリスクを考えさせられました。

幸いなことに、当宿ではゲストさんはゆっくり眠れたようで、宿として今回の豪雨は被害なくやり過ごせそうです。

P.S.そういえば、先週の東京から関門までの移動、、、ほとんど雨に降られることもなく、最後の夜に対岸で休んでいる時にひと降りしただけで済んで、ラッキーだったなぁとあらためて感じました。（立ち寄った各地はその後大雨に見舞われたようなので）
