My favorite Japanese lighthouses

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

As we are working under a lighthouse and with it all the time,

I am always curious about lighthouses of the area where I visit.

My favorite type of lighthouse is that blends in with the landscape and be with local people and their activity.

Lately not a few lighthouses are broken down because of advancing GPS technology. However we hope those beautiful lighthouses will stay forever.

灯台考

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

灯台下の宿で、いつも灯台とともにいると、、、

出かけていても、その土地の灯台に目が留まります。

自分が好きなのは、風景に溶け込み・その土地の人たちとともにある灯台です。

GPSが発達した今、各地の灯台はどんどん撤去されているそうですが、こんな灯台はずっと残って欲しいですね。

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Something is wrong. Our(?) lighthouse’s light is on.

It is very natural that lighthouse’s light is on, you say? No, no, it is not the lantern light, the tower’s window light is on.

We think that the window should not be lighted on even to the untrained eye.

So we guess that a lighthouse maintenance guy of the coast guard might forget to turn off the stairs’ light.

あれ？灯台が光ってる！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

なんか変なんです。ここのところ灯台が光っているんです。

え？灯台が光るのは当たり前だ、って。いやいや光るべき灯光ではなくて、灯塔が光っているんです。

素人目にもココって昼夜光っていいところではないように思うのですが、、、

推測するに、メンテナンスで入った海上保安庁の人が階段の明かりを消し忘れたのではないかと。
