The night is not only good time in Autumn!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Because of the work pattern of guesthouse, lunch time and early afternoon are kind of relieved time for us.
(The relieved time is still much longer than our expectation now.)

Autumn is the best season not only for eating BENTO at picnic. We should not satisfy only with so called (in Japan) autumn appetite.

Once our stomach get full, hunger for the knowledge arises.

It is also said that autumn is the best season for reading in Japan, but night is not only the time for reading.

It is rather good for the eyes reading in the sunlight than in the fluorescent light, we think.

So we have a lot of good and comfortable spots for reading here in Kanmon area.

夜だけじゃない！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ゲストハウスという仕事柄、お昼から午後の早い時間はホッとする時間です。
（今はまだホッとする時間が期待する以上に長いけれど、、、）

ピクニックのお弁当で、食欲を満たすだけが秋の醍醐味ではありません。よくいう食欲の秋だけで満足してはいけません。

お腹が一杯になれば、今度は知欲が湧いてきますよね。

秋の夜長・夜中に本を読むことだけが読書の秋ではありません。

むしろ本は陽の光が届く、そこそこ明るいところで読むほうが目の負担が少ないように感じます。

というわけで、心地よい読書スポットにも事欠かない関門エリアです。

遠足の聖地 / Most popular spot for field trip

Most popular spot for field trip

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It seemed that many people in Tokyo were in terrible situation (because of the earthquake).

It was good to hear there was no victim but we would like to express our sympathies to the people who got injured and inconvenient without power or water.

In addition, we hear that many people got suffered hard time without elevators.

I personally worried about my family in Tokyo and e-mailed them. They were surprised by the shaking but no serious trouble rather than that. Granddaughter went field trip with smile on the next morning and I was relieved to hear that.

After such conversation via e-mail, the word “field trip” made me go to the most popular spot in this town for field trip.

Every year’s open burning (which was not controlled last year and made forest fire) made beautiful Japanese pampas grass fields.

As I imagined, many children were enjoying field trip with their teachers and that made me feel like I was watching my granddaughter’s field trip.

P.S. This town, Kitakyushu, is the good place to visit in autumn with mountains, ocean and tableland.

遠足の聖地

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

水曜日の夜は東京が大変だったみたいですね。

死者はなかったようですが、怪我をされた方、停電・断水等で不便なされた方にはお見舞い申し上げます。

エレベーターが使えなくなって、想定外の体力づくりをされた人も多かったと聞きました。

そんな東京に住んでいる家族のことが気になりメールすると、揺れは大きかったけれど特に問題はなかったようです。孫娘などは翌朝には元気に遠足に出かけて行った、と聞いて安心しました。

そんな会話をキッカケに、安心したついでに行ってみました、わが町の「秋の遠足のメッカ」！

昨年、火事を起こすほど盛大に燃やした野焼きの甲斐あってか、ススキが綺麗に風になびいていました。

想像したそのままに、遠足児童もいたりして、孫娘の遠足をのぞき見できたような気がしました。

それでは、天高く馬肥ゆる素敵な一日を！

P.S. 山あり、海あり、台地あり。北九州の秋は良いですよ。

真夏日の過ごし方 – 北九州編 / The best way to enjoy hot summer day in Kitakyushu!

The best way to enjoy hot summer day in Kitakyushu!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are already in October, but temperature have still been hot summer day here Kanmon area.

Yes, this must be Endless Summer!

“Hot summer day” and “Endless Summer” made me feel about the beach.

Waves at Kujukuri (Chiba), Suruga-nasa (Shizuoka) and Enshu-nasa (Aichi) were good. However waves here is also good as well.

I personally feel that it is better here, specially this time. (This may be the blessings from Tamasaki shrine?)

Temperature is hot summer day and sea water is also hot summer sea. Short sleeves and shorts type wet-suits is best match to the waves.

The biggest difference from other beaches is after surfing.

After enjoying with waves whole morning, I enjoyed relaxing picnic on the grass. If only I stayed in shade, I have comfortable time feeling ocean breeze.

That was fun time watching the sea and talking about camping with an outdoor businessman who parked next to me and cooked just for himself in his lunch break.

It is really comfortable beach spot. An old man who maintains the park taught me that the park was made on the site where an Japanese restaurant used to do their business with the fine ocean view. So now I know why so comfortable.

OK. This is the best way to enjoy hot summer day in Kitakyushu!

真夏日の過ごし方 – 北九州編！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

１０月というのに、、真夏日が続く、ここ関門エリアです。まさにエンドレス・サマー！

真夏日でエンドレス・サマーとなれば、やっぱり海！

九十九里、駿河湾、遠州灘など太平洋の波も良かったですが、ここ北九州の波も捨てたもんじゃありません。

むしろ、こっちの方が良いくらいです。（これも玉前神社とお守りのご利益かも？）

気温は真夏日ですが、実は海水温も真夏です。ウエットスーツも半袖短パンのタイプでちょうどいい感じです。

で、他のエリアのビーチと違うのがココから、、、

午前中海に浮かんだ後は、芝生の上のピクニックでリラックス。日陰にいれば海風を感じて心地よいひとときです。

隣に駐車した外回りの途中でランチを”料理”してる今どきのアウトドア・ビジネスマンと、ソーシャルディスタンスを保ちつつ海を見ながらのソロキャン・トークを楽しみました。

なんとも心地よいビーチスポットです。元は眺望がウリだった料亭の跡地にできた公園だと、管理のオジサンに教えてもらって納得しました。

以上、真夏日の北九州の理想的な過ごし方でした。
