Too pitiful in SAKURA season
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Following this town, Komorie, declaration of flowering was announced in the area around Kokura castle.
(Both declarations are not official one.)
In Sakura season, I’m concerned for a particular people in this country.
They are not the people who abandon to have party under cherry trees, but the student who are going to graduate from their school.
“Take care for infection rebound!”
Party under cherry trees can be held next year, but their chance to experience their graduation trip is one in their lifetime.
The words I heard at European Alps during my graduation trip have influenced the rest of my life very much. The sight that time still comes to my eyes without any photo picture. So I feel pity for them who lost the chance to trip.
Timing, chance to meet with people, and excitement are irreplaceable assets and limited at the time and the age only.
There are not only students who abandon graduation trip but also students who give up to study abroad or go working holiday to broaden their knowledge and experience. As a father who send his daughter to study abroad for two years in total, I also feel pity for them. (I heard such story from our guest who abandon / cancel studying abroad or working holidays. Some were came back from the country.)
We are thinking about what TOUKA can propose for them, though it may be less possibility for them to visit here or that won’t make it in time before their graduation.

桜の季節に不憫極まりない
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
この町小森江に続き、小倉城でも開花が宣言されたようです。
（どっちも非公式な宣言なので、似たようなもんでしょう。）
桜の時期になって、ある不憫な人たちのことが気になっています。
桜の下での宴会を諦めた人たちではありません、卒業を控えた学生さんたちです。
「春ですが リバウンドに注意！」
花見宴会や会食*は来年も出来ますが「卒業旅行」は一生で一度しか出来ません。
（*ＮＴＴや東北新社との会食はどうでしょ？いつも近くの人達だから感染対策的には可能かもね。）
自分の場合、卒業旅行で行ったヨーロッパの雪山で会った人の一言がその後の人生に少なからず影響しています。手元に写真がなくてもその時の光景はいまでも目に浮かびます。そうした貴重な機会を失った彼らのことが不憫でなりません。
その時・その年齢だから行けるタイミング、一期一会、そして感動はかけがえのない財産です。
また卒業を控えた学生でなくても、海外留学やワーキングホリデーを通して見聞を広めようとしていた若者もいるでしょう。
自身も娘を延べ二年間海外留学させた親の視点から、そんな若者のこともとても不憫に思います。（留学やワーホリを諦め、中途で帰国したゲストさんも当宿にいらっしゃいました。）
この桜のシーズンには間に合いませんし、彼らが当宿に来る確率は決して高くはないと思いますが、灯火ではなにか彼らのために提案できることがないか模索中です。

*P.S. 検査体制の拡充なしに「Go To」で全国に第三波を広めて緊急事態宣言しときながら、たとえ公務とはいえ、自分はワクチン打ってニコニコ米国に笑顔で出かけていく気持ちが分かりません。
