Once in a lifetime
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
As we are running guesthouse, we often recognize the importance of this word ICHIGOICHIE (= Once in a life time).
We always prepare and welcome our guests with showing our hospitality. As the result, once became twice and repeatedly in many cases, and we appreciate it very much.
We have just sweared to ourselves to keep showing our original hospitality to our guest for this year.
By the way,
We have felt that ICHIGOICHIE (= Once in a lifetime) is not only effective with human but with something else.
Because I found one goods on super sale wagon in one recycle shop which match to this guesthouse very much on the last way back from Tokyo. Recently I have visited recycle shops in local cities, if I have an extra time during driving to/from Tokyo.
In the shop, I found a partly broken box and I was curios about what is inside. So I asked the shop to let me check it and I found this Japanese kite in good condition. The picture on the kite is about ancient battle at this strait.
Since I got the building of TOUKA here, I have kept feeling ICHIGOICHIE in many cases.
So I added this kite* to our new year interiors/decorations and expect divine favor of this famous SAMURAI, who has been a kind of a top idol in Japanese history. (*Kite is a traditional Japanese toy and new year decoration.)

一期一会
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
宿屋を営んでいると、「一期一会」、、、この言葉の重要性を実感することが多いです。
ご利用いただくゲストさんには常に「一期一会」の気持ちで準備・応対させていただいています。その結果として、一期一会が一期二会となり三会となり、リピーターとなっていただくことも少なくなくて、有り難いばかりです。
本年2022年もそんな気持ちを大切に、灯火なりのおもてなしを続けていこうと誓いを新たにしたところです。
ところで、、、
この一期一会って、どうも人に対してだけではないと思えるようになりました。
というも、最近移動中に時間に余裕が出来ると、その土地々々のリサイクルショップに立ち寄ったりするのですが、前回の東京行きの帰り道で、とあるリサイクルショップの激安特価ワゴンの中に海峡の町にある当宿にピッタリの品物を見つけたんです。
潰れた箱の中身はハッキリ分からなかったのですが、気になったので確認させてもらうと、中からはこんなものが！それも状態良く。
どうも当宿の建物と出会って以来、こうした一期一会を感じること本当に多いんです。
今年からこの和凧を正月飾りに加え、日本史のアイドルでもあるこの名将のパワーにあやかりたいと思います。
