Too many things!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In this town, there were too many things to do and see during the hot weekend.

Out town held Port Festival and many people get together to have fun like before COVID-19 pandemic.

Basically I don’t like to be in the crowd and usually I don’t be in the town during festival. But I took a glance on the way back from business.

There were many stalls opened along the street. And there were a lot of people in front of the event stage.

Oh, really! The sailing boat which I saw from our guesthouse propelling through the strait a few hours ago was moored at the pier. (I heard that it was on the way back from “experience sailing”, one of the festival events.)

Long long time ago, this festival was counted as one of top three port festivals in Japan. Now it is so local festival that there is no vestige of old days.

However the current festival size suits to present local community of nationwide top class town with declining birthrate and aging population.

I vaguely thought such thing watching the sunset.

Anyway I believe that it is not bad to live in the town with port/sea related festival every year.

盛りだくさん！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この週末は暑いだけでなく、この近辺ではなんとも盛り沢山な週末でした。

町ではみなと祭りが開催され、町はコロナ前の賑わいを取り戻したのような人出でした。

基本的に人混みは好きではないので、見に行くつもりはなかったのですが、用事のついでに町を覗くと、、、

露天が立ち並んでいたり、イベントステージが出来ていたり、結構にぎやかです。

あれ？！ ちょっと前に海峡を通過していたのを宿から見た帆船が波止場に停泊していたりもしていました。
（あれは通常の航海ではなくて、体験航海だったようです。）

その昔には、日本三大みなと祭りのひとつと呼ばれていたそうですが、今ではその面影もなくなるぐらいローカル色の強いお祭りとなっていますが、、、

少子高齢化が最も進む政令指定都市にはこのぐらいの人間臭いお祭りがありがたいように思います。

そんなことを夕陽を見ながら考えてしまいました。

色々ありますが、海に関連するお祭りがあるこの町、住むには悪くないところです。
