Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Now the Kanmon Bridge, celebrated its 50th birthday this week,is attracting attention.
But there is one more in this town.
This red bridge is 61 years old this year.
It was told that it is Japan’s first full-fledged long suspension bridge.
The bridge was already in operation when I was born.
In my childhood, people could walk on the bridge, like same colored Golden Gate in San Francisco. But now for cars only. But there’s no need to feel sorry, because view from small ferryboat, which goes under the bridge is much better.
Please come to see two old bridges in ordinance-designated cities suffering from declining birthrate and aging population.

もう一本
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
わが町では、今週５０歳の誕生日を迎えた関門橋が注目を浴びていますが、、、
実はもうひとつあるんです。
なんとこちらの赤い橋は今年６１歳です。
わが国最初の本格的長大吊橋だそうで、宿主の生まれた時にはすでに運用されていました。
こちらの橋、自分が子供の頃は同じ色のサンフランシスコ金門橋のように橋の上を歩いて渡れたのですが、今は自動車専用。でも残念に思うこと勿れ、橋の下の渡船の方がオススメだってします。
少子高齢化に悩む政令指定都市の高齢鉄橋、どうぞ見に来てください。
