Energy revolution is going on?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

My favorite starry sky viewing spot is also wonderful beach spot in daytime.

It locates close to famous and popular sightseeing spot but it is very relaxing spot without people.

On the way back from there, I noticed one thing.

It is that a gas station which is rare in the area went out of business.

It was useful for our guests and us who visit the area. So what I saw this time was very disappointing.

High fuel efficiency, hybrid and electrification have created hard time for gas stations in country side.
(Actually, gas station has been reduced even in Tokyo and I had an experience of running out gas in the middle of Tokyo on Sunday.)

It is furthermore hard time for petroleum-based industries because people appeal decarbonization at home and abroad. So oil producing countries deny to increase production as a countermeasure for the situation. As the result, crude oil price has skyrocketed over the last few months. We can imagine this will accelerate anti using fossil fuel.

This may be good opportunity to think about how to face the energy on the way to decarbonization.

エネルギー革命進行中？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

星空スポットは昼間も素敵なビーチです。

人気の観光スポットの至近距離にもかかわらず、人もいなくてくつろげるスポットです。

そんなスポットからの帰路、ある変化に気付きました。

そのあたりでは希少なガソリンスタンドが、、、閉店していました。

結構重宝していたスタンドだったのでとても残念です。

車の性能が上がり、ハイブリッド化・電気化が進んで地方のガソリンスタンドには厳しい状況です。
（実は東京都内ですらガソリンスタンドは激減していて、日曜の山手線内でガス欠になったことがあります。）

さらに国内外で脱炭素化が叫ばれ、石油関連業者には大変な時代です。産油国は対抗として原油増産を否定し、原油価格がロケットのような勢いで高騰していますが、これが世間の石油離れを加速するのは必須です。

脱炭素化が進む過程で、個人としてどうエネルギーと向き合うべきか考えるよい機会かもしれませんね。
