It is increasing lately!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Our guests use variou kind of transportation to come here.
Surprisingly, we have guests are increasing, who use “Yamaguchi-Ube Airport” to come here. We are appreciating that our guests are coming from the airport from different prefecture.

To tell the truth, the “Yamaguchi-Ube Airport” is very convenient. I also use it, when I fly to Tokyo several time a year. There are two reasons I choose “Yamaguchi-Ube Airport”. Air ticket is 20% cheaper, and they have free parking lot.

Now they have regular international flights, which started Oct. last year. Only three flight in a week, but we are expecting that they will have more flights.

最近、赤丸急増中！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

当宿を利用されるゲストは様々な交通手段でいらっしゃいます。
意外なのが、最近増えてきた「山口宇部空港」を利用されるゲスト。他県の空港からココまで来ていただいていることに感謝です。

実はこの山口宇部空港、とっても便利なんです。自分も年に数回東京に行く際には利用しています。その理由は二つ。同じ航空会社の中でも航空券が２割ほど安い。そしてなんといっても駐車場が無料！

国際便も、期間限定かチャーター便しか飛んでいなかったのが、昨年10月には定期便に。まだソウル行きの週３便だけですが、これからの増便を期待したいと思います。

今は昔、、今も昔に！/ Someday, the present will be the past!

Someday, the present will be the past!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In new year holiday, I got a photo book “Showa era of Kitakyushu” gifted from my friend. When I open the first page, I found a little difference from my imagination.

There was one similar photo book published 8 years ago but contents of two books are different.

The title of former book is “Kitakyushu Past and Present”. Appearances of both books are quite similar at size and thickness (wraparound band also similar). However publishers of two books are different and naturally contents are different.

Each book has good and bad points. I felt interesting that “Past and Present” has old picture and current (as of the day of publishing) on the same page. Now we see the book “Past and Present” and find out “Present” pictures are already old enough and we can compare Past, Present and Future(?) in that book.

In Japan, HEISEI era is closing now and I think that I should do something interesting with using these books for myself in future.

今は昔、、今も昔に！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

年始にいただいた写真集「北九州の昭和」。
表紙を開いてみると、思っていた内容と少し違っていました。

実は似たような写真集が８年前に出版されていて、そのイメージと「北九州の昭和」とが異なっていたということです。

先に出版されている写真集のタイトルは「北九州の今昔」。サイズ・厚さともに二つの外見は酷似しています（帯の感じまでソックリです）。けれども出版社が違うので、本の中身が違うのは仕方ありません。

内容については、どちらも長短ありますが、「今昔」では、その昔の画像と、出版当時の現在（平成22年頃）の様子が併記されているのが興味深いです。その「今昔」を「今」見ると、8年間のうちにすでに変化が見られる風景が多く、現在・過去・未来(?)的な見方が出来るのが興味深いです。

さて、平成から新しい年号に変わろうといる現在、この2冊をつかってなにか「未来の自分の役に立つこと」をしておこうと思う今日このごろです。

残念な日！/ The day of disappointing!

The day of disappointing!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

These are the views from TOUKA on Tuesday this week.
It was sunny day but not clear. Stalks of steel factory are seen in normal day but not on Tuesday.

They could be seen a little around 8AM, but completely invisible around 4PM.

The reason of this was PM2.5, air pollution.

The guests who checked out on the day are a couple from Seoul, Korea. We talked about clear sky on Monday and they thought me that their friends discussed in SNS about bad air pollution in Seoul on Monday. I thought that it is somebody else’s business but it became our business the next day.

This air pollution must be caused originally from China.

We want both government, Korea and Japan to fix conflicts ASAP. We should tackle together with the problem which affect both citizens and negotiate strongly with the big neighbor. (Donald Tramp won’t negotiate this issue for us.)

残念な日！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

今週火曜日の当宿「灯火」から見下ろす海峡の風景です。
晴れていたのに、いつもは見えている製鉄所の煙突がどんどん見えなくなっていきました。

画像はその様子。朝８時にはぼんやりと見えていたものが、夕方４時には全く見えなくなりました。

その原因はＰＭ２.５！

この日チェックアウトされたのは隣国の首都ソウルからいらっしゃったゲスト。前日の月曜の会話では、ソウルに住む友人からソウルの大気汚染がスゴく警報まで出たと連絡があったそうです。他人事かと思っていたら、翌日にはこっちまでやってきてしまいました。

原因は中国からの大気汚染の拡散でしょう。

韓国も日本も互いの関係を早く前向きな状態に修復し、両国民が被っている「今そこにある問題」を解消するため、タッグを組んで強力にかの国と交渉してもらいたいです。（トランプ政権はこの問題について交渉してくれません。）
