What we can do now, the best things we can do now!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
In the previous article, we introduced our remote office where is very safe from infection.
(Just in case, it is only the shop in our town. Other shops have full of young generation who has/scatter the virus.)
As we are in hostel industry, we are very nervous about infection presentation.
Now there is no use of cluster prevention, because there are community acquired infections everywhere in Japan. The person you just pass by might be infected. Nobody know it. The Japanese government, who never use the word “Second Wave”, has been negative to strengthen the ability of testing. And we are thinking it is because they want to hide the true number of infected people in this country.
Dr. Nishiura, a professor of Kyoto Univ. (former Hokkaido Univ.) famous for his theory “80 percent reduction of contacting with people is effective”, taught us that Avoiding Three Cs is no longer effective in Japan. It was effective only for the time of a few infected people. (Lately we are not seeing him as well as our prime minister. 80 percent theory may not be favorable any more to the government.)
So we think that the only way to protect ourselves is to avoid contacting with other people as much as possible. Specially be careful not to contact young generation and not to visit the place they gather.
As a conclusion, we decided to operate this guesthouse with limited one group of guests a day. It is to avoid the risk of guest to guest contact/infection.
Usually we entertain all guests staying in one night with petit fireworks festival, SENKO HANABI night. It is very unfortunate to both our guests and us.
But we have a strong will not to have any infection in this guesthouse, so we keep the operation with limited one group of guests a day whole this year.
This is our new protocol with COVID-19 virus in this country.

今できること、最善のこと！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
前回の記事の中で、感染予防に最適なリモートオフィスを紹介しましたが、、、
（念のため、それはわが町の店舗だけです。他店にはウイルスを拡散する世代が大勢です。）
宿泊業という職種から、感染対策については少し神経質になってしまいます。
もはやクラスター対策の効果がないほど、「市中感染」が広がっています。町ですれ違う人が感染者かもしれません。第二波とは絶対に言わない日本政府が、同じく検査体制の拡充に積極的でないのは、真の国内感染者数を見たくないからではないかと最近考えるようになりました。
自他共に認める８割オジサン西浦教授（なんと北大から京大に移籍されているようです）によると、「三密を避ける」はすでに感染拡大抑制の有効な方法ではなくなっているそうです。三密回避は感染者が少ない時に限った有効手段だったそうです。（そういえば、首相同様、西浦教授も最近見なくなりましたね。人とのコンタクトを８割削減するとなにか都合が悪いのでしょうか？）
そうなると、もう自衛するしかなくて「他人との接触を極力避ける」しかないということだと考えています。特にウイルスキャリアーの可能性が高い「若い世代」が集まる場所には行かないことでしょう。
当宿でも７月から「一日一組限定」で予約をとることにしており、ゲスト間・ゲスト同士のコンタクトによる感染リスクを回避しています。
本来であればこの時期は、たまたま同じ日に泊まっているゲストで「線香花火大会」などして、楽しい夏の一夜を過ごすシーズンなのにとても残念です。
けれども、当宿が原因で感染が広まることだけは避けたく、今年いっぱいは「一日一組限定」オペレーションを継続する予定です。
これが「灯火」が掲げ・実践する「With Corona」のニュー・プロトコル（新様式）です。
